am i missing anything to create a .22 FA kit?

i see some have a 1/16 twist .22lr barrel and make the whole upper from scratch....seems like getting a CMMG upper 22lr may be the best deal

If you mean by typing FA what I think you mean, you cannot build a FA gun and you should not be talking about it on here.  Building FA guns is illegal.

no i have a m16a2-----oosting it under AR15 section because ill get more responses and advice


so no FA issues....trying to figure out how to get a lower price .22lr for it

found one above on sale.....otherwise all the CMMG uppers never seem to be on sale....seems out of stock everywhere

i believe the upper above is complete except for FA part and some 25 round mags...still puts me over $500

hard to do when i own a Ruger 10/22.....not worth $500 to shoot FA .22

Actually you would probably get more advise in the M16 Section under Armory

The PSA Freedom uppers use 1:7 twist barrels which will not provide nearly as good of accuracy as a CMMG or TACCOM3 dedicated 22 rimfire barrel with 1:16 twist.   You will need the anti bounce kit with a CMMG bolt to get FA.    

There are a few other dedicated 22 uppers and conversion kits on the market but the only two I'm aware of that are capable of FA is the CMMG or Ciener with the correct additional parts.


This thread will give you an idea about potential accuracy difference between dedicated uppers and 22 conversions in 223/5.56 barrels.

the FA part of the CMMG is just a part they make you toss in.....there is no difference between the SA/FA upper other than this part....id think they would sell 1000x's more SA than FA for their upper
