Great idea, POOR execution.
Their receivers were castings and the lowers were known to fail. |

I bought one of thier lowers when they come out and I have not had any problems with it. Someone posted if you drop it on concete it will brake into pieces, if it gets to hot it will go up in fames and all kids of bs. I threw in down on the garage floor and didn't brake.
After multiple uppers and triggers it's been a good lower. I will buy another or a complete rifle if I see one. Mag tactical was bought by fostech. I not sure if they will make the uppers or lowers but if they do I'll buy a set. |

I have two lowers, one is my 3 gun rifle, plenty of mileage. The second I blew up with a reloading error. It blew up just like any AR lower does.

Are those pics of your lower or did you get them off the internet? Either way do you know the story behind those pics?

Regardless, they DO fail. I have one, but I'm treating mine as if it's manufactured from glass. They should have machined them from Billet. |

There is a reason the M-16 TDP doesn't allow castings to be used. There have been close up photos of Mag Tactical failures showing the voids from a piss poor casting process. I'm not sure I COULD break a forged or billet receiver without resorting to power equipment. |

They were porous castings. People can gamble their money on a product that has a higher than normal rate of failure compared to other lowers, in order to save a few ounces. Seems like you have a decent one, but you can't deny the preponderance of evidence against your assertions that they are as reliable as a properly machined and dimensioned forged lower. |

Not if they are going to cast them!
There were several photos of broken cast Olympic Arms lowers, they were cast from A-356 Aluminum because 7075 doesn't cast well. An A-356 casting isn't anywhere near as strong as a lower forged out of 7075 (or 6061) |

I have one, if it breaks oh well, I have plenty of backups. I got a balios lite to SBR for a light weight option though.

I have a couple of the lowers. I like the light weight and I haven't broken one yet. If it does break, I'll pick one of my other 20+ AR's up and keep shooting.

Had one on my boys 458 socom. Probably had a hundred rounds through it. No problems, but after seeing some failures online, it now lives under the tacsol 22.
