I still need to add BUIS and make a few minor changes/adjustments, but this is my budget build so far. I may change out the stock to a Magpul STR or similar, and I'm tempted to change the handguard to a Larue 13.2 with a bipod QD mount (or at least a rail section with bipod QD mount)

Green Mountain barrel (18" SS, fluted, rifle gas 223 wylde)
Geissele SSAE
Aero Precision upper, lower, and scope mount
PA 4-14 FFP scope
other basic parts

It doesn't look like this at the moment, the furniture is different, but it is what the OP requested. And he is very familiar with it. Sort of. It now wears a EMOD stock and is black no longer FDE.

Its only been on the range once, and needs a real optic to reach its potential.

It looks better now with the EMOD. I need to take a new picture.

Wow!  Your's is one of the few I've seen with one of those barrels.  Naturally I got to ask....how's it shoot?  How do you like it?  Pro's and cons?  Does it feel as light as it looks?  Sorry for asking questions I'm sure you get often.

Finally, how does it feel to be in the Tier 0.5 Ultra Cool Tac club?  (That's even better than Tier 1 by the way)

Kick-ass looking rig.

ETA:. I messed with your picture.  I hope you don't mind.  It may be worse or better.  If you hate it, I will remove it.

Sorry I missed this question from several weeks ago.

It has been a good shooter for me.  My most recent outing with it had me putting some 55gr loads into about an inch sized group at 100y for 10 rounds.  I'll be taking it out again soon with some different ammo and a different lower (the SMOS pictured a posts up) just for function testing.  The SMOS has a G2S trigger while the original lower has a SSA.

Just put this one together yesterday. (Shilen 18" barrel)
Yeah, yeah, I know there are no sights yet. I ran out of $$$. Also the FS is not what I'll be using on the muzzle, so it's only hand tight and not indexed.
Will be adding a scope once more funds are available. Love the balance of the 18" though, feels great off hand.

My (WIP) SCR SPR:

Barrel is a White Oak Armament 18" Predator with full narrow fluting (what SDM barrels have under the handguard.)  The profile is 0.90" under the handguard, 0.875" gas block journal and 0.76" up front, which is slightly heavier than the typical SPR barrel (usually, something like 0.84", 0.75" and 0.73", respectively), but the fluting drops the weight to just under 2.5 lbs, which is within the range of what SPR barrels weigh.  It should be even more rigid and cool faster, though.  Gas system is intermediate-length (I was concerned about rifle-length on an 18" in an area that gets as cold as upstate NY) and chamber is the WOA Varmint chamber (according to them, it's basically a Wylde chamber with a slightly shorter throat; still handles both .233 Rem and 5.56.)  Muzzle has a target crown and it has a bead-blast finish (except gas block journal, which I was hoping that the Larue block would completely cover.)

Who's got a 18" SPR barrel (rifle gas) for a good price? I have a Rainier ultra match but it's too much $$$ for me to get another one at this time. Any suggestions? I was looking at larue 18" but its a mid length gas. Could I put a low-pro gas block on there and then add my FSGB further up the barrel in front of the KAC rail?

Check out Stubborrn Mule Outdoor Supply.  Its an intermeddiate gas system.  Comes with a nicely machined stainless gas block and the intermediate gas tube.  Thats whats on mine a few pictures up.  Shot several groups under 1" with freedom munitions reman.  Took it out to 650 yds with some Hornandy 77 gr ammo and it was very accurate.  I put my friend behind it and he went 5 for 5 at 650 yds on an 18" wide target.

PSA Lead Lapped barrel from PSA. Got the upper on sale cheap. And I have too say, it's a fly hitter. Very accurate. Has Leupold VXR 1.5 X 4 Patrol and I love this scope. Its a 500.00 scope that is way worth the $$$$$$. Has a PSA lower, Fortis CH and the rest of the goodies I got from RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS @ SUPPLY.

Figured this would fit better in here than the mk12 thread,  as it is not a full clone.
BCM mk12 mod 0 upper (sans swan sleeve), on an Anderson lower with PSA lower parts kit and their "enhanced trigger." I'm still debating acquiring a swan sleeve,  but not 100% on the idea. I week be doing a LaRue spr mount with probably a vortex optic for now...then a night force in the future. I will probably also get a form 4 started for an AEM5....
