It's high time we had an Anderson AR pic thread around here. If you have an Anderson AR or have built an AR on an Anderson lower, show it off here.

I just finished this one today, after the mailman dropped off my new Vortex Razor 1-6x with the JM1 reticle. Still needs a light, sling, and bipod, but I thought it was certainly worthy of a pic now that it has its optic. Here is the parts list:

Anderson lower receiver with integrated trigger guard, SBR'ed.
Aero LPK
LaRue MBT trigger
Norgon ambi mag catch
Seekins mag release button
Damage Industries ambi selector
Palmetto 7075 buffer tube
Colt H buffer
Magpul MOE+ grip
Magpul CTR stock

Anderson upper receiver
LaRue Stealth 12" barrel
Geissele MK8 9.5" rail (blem without a blem)
Geissele charging handle
Aim Surplus V2 nitride BCG
A2 flash suppressor

Geissele Super Precision 30mm mount from M4-CQBR fundraiser
Vortex Razor HDII 1-6x with JM1 reticle

My only assembled Anderson lower is the 12.5 on top.  I have a few stripped ones laying around that will be complete rifles real soon.

Fun gun:

It's not as fun now, I sold the binary trigger to buy a fostech echo.  Someday it will be fun again.

No individual pics yet, so this will have to do. Second one from the left and the second one from the right are both Anderson uppers and lowers. First on the left is an Anderson lightweight upper, if that counts for anything.

We had a bitch of a time lining up that Magpul handguard. And for the life of me, I can't figure out why you don't have one of your PA red dots mounted on that thing.

The Fostech Echo has a trip to keep the hammer from dropping unless the carrier is closed.  It also uses some Hiperfire tech so it should hit harder.  The Frankford couldn't ignite 7.62x39 that I wanted to use it with.  The new Frankford has dropped the back up disconnector and can use heavier hammer springs, if Fostech takes too long I'll probably get it.

So with the shortened buffer, does it change the feel of the recoil any?

I have a couple of them.  Yes the recoil feels "snappier" especially if you are comparing it to a non standard spring and buffer setup.  I have a 10.3" SBR that uses a SpringCo blue spring and a Spike's ST-T2.  That set up is pretty smooth and when I put the Ultra Compact set up on, it made the recoil a little harder and faster.  I switched back to the Blue spring/ST-T2 stock set up because I just prefer a standard configuration for this SBR (ie no proprietary parts).

The Ultra Compact went on my 7.5" SBR because..... it's a firecracker anyway and I wanted the smallest/shortest set up without a folder stock adapter.  I also run a Ultra Compact on my 14.5" Middy and the recoil is fine, but a hair snappier than the old set up (regular spring H2 buffer).

I think it's important to say that it doesn't really effect the way the gun feels. Saying it is snappy or crisper is nice and all but I used a rifle with one the other day shooting the weekly challenge interchangeably with my 5.45 gun with a normal h2 buffer and carbine sling.

Its quite a bit shorter. Some guys cut the front of the CAR stocks off and use them with thw UCIW buffer tube.

I really like them. I think I've got three of them for different SBR's now.

In my experience there is more muzzle rise between the two stocks on the same rifle.  It's not night and day, but it is different.

Anyone have issues with mags not dropping free from their Anderson lowers? I'm trying to mend this issue myself. Magwell seems a tad more snug than others.

Even the usgi mags are a tight fit in the well. I played around with loosening and tightening thread on mag catch, but still the same.  It's a BCM enhanced kit I used on it. I'm wondering if the mag catch is biting too much too , along with the snug fit.
