Here is my HD, Competition, and truck gun.

This will include home defense, vehicle defense (ie, trunk guns), and duty rifles. Basically any AR that fills the role of protecting you, should that time come, is fair game.

Lets limit this to rifles only (no pistols). Feel free to write a quick description on the specs of your build, as well as the ammo you have loaded up.

I'll start with mine:

Upper:

LMT 10.5
F1 .30 6" Ti suppressor
Geissele Mk2 rail
Surefire Mini Scout
Aimpoint T1/LT660
PA 3x magnifier (doesn't always stay on there)
KAC VFG
MBUS

Lower:

LMT Defender 2000 SBR
Geissele SSA-E
Because of cost, I have 62gr MSR Fusion in my mag

This was a trunk gun I had for a while. It was a KAC SR-15 E3 Mod 0 upper, Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x20, and Anderson lower.

Question:  Im assuming those are ear plugs you leave in your rifles stocks.  Great idea btw!

But my questions:  Are those just disposables?  Do those still effectively conform to your ears after being lodged in the buttstock?

I keep electronic ear pro in several locations in the house and I keep a few of these in the center console of my F150.  I really like those but I am a firm believer in 2 is 1 and 1 is none so I wouldn't mind throwing a pair of disposables on my rifle IF that is a good way to go.

Current setup is a BCM 16" midlength upper on a PSA lower with a Geissele SD-C trigger, basic magpul furniture/vertical grip and DD fixed rear sight.  In the process of getting the new horseshoe/chevron Primary arms red dot and keep forgetting to buy the MLok to picatinny rail section so I can mount a TLR-1HL on it.  That will be it though, nothing else on it after that.  Sorry, dont have any pics of it yet and Im waaay too lazy to do that just for this thread.

Heres my last setup: PWS MK114

</a>" />

Before that:  S&W M&P 10 purchased right when they first came out.  As such it didnt have all the issues worked out and I sold it pretty quick.

</a>" />

Before that, my first AR (personally owned anyways) was a Colt 6940.  Ended up giving it to the ex-wife in the divorce.  Im not a big colt fan so I dont really miss it to be honest.

</a>" />

Oh and I never used an AR as a trunk gun.  I used a Maverick 88 in California  (unloaded no less ) and back in TX I used a Yugo M92.  now THAT was a great Trunk gun for the money and size.
</a>" />
I know not an AR...

As you guys can see, Im not much of a photographer

Yep, they're just disposable foam ear plugs. They do still form correctly in my ear if I use them, but I wouldn't put them in for an HD event. That's what the suppressor is for--so I don't have to fumble around with ears. They're more for going to the range with a friend that forgets ear pro, which happens pretty often.

I also keep Surefire plugs in my car which is what I always use, plus some big non-electric muffs in my trunk. I keep Impact Sports and more foamies in my range bag but those are also for friends that forget their ears.

10.5" 300BLK SBR w/ YHM can.   Upper also does duty as a deer "pistol" in the late fall here, and works very well for that when mated to a dedicated pistol lower.  Picture doesn't show it well, but the paint is wearing nicely, as it does see quite a bit of range time.   Not used as a truck gun given rules at work.

Are you not allowed to even supply your own mount to get it on the receiver? They that picky?

I've heard some units are more lenient than others but most are gonna be super anal about you only using issued gear.  For example We were told we couldn't bring pmags before I deployed and I wasn't even in a line unit.

A little complicated but I'm not 100% guarenteed  to be the only one using the gun. Since it is a pool weapon I only invest money on things that I view as affecting my potential safety.

Yep. Swapped an A2 upper from the EE onto a PSA Freedom middy barrell assembly. The FSB is F msrked, so technically not correct for A2, but the rifle still hits nicely and that's what counts.

Here's the answer to your question:

4x ACOG directly to the receiver works well.  With a compact ACOG like he has the front sight base becomes very visible through the scope.  It's really annoying.  He'd need to modify the FSB to make it work well.  Also when it is on the carry handle it is only about a half-inch higher than an Aimpoint set up for lower third cowitness.

This is my go-to rifle.
Colt 6920, all stock other than:
Surefire Fury on IWC offset mount.

LMT fixed rear sight
Rattle can paintjob

It is reliable and accurate enough. I do have better choices for open field coyotes, but I got this coyote last night at ~120 yards in the tall grass.

Edit: I realize the safety was off in the pic, bad job on my part

Super fancy high dollar Primary Arms T-1 clone.  It has been on several rifles, and been through several courses and has never failed or lost zero.  I am still a hug fan of the MRO, but I am in the camp of if it ain't broke, don't fix it for this optic.  When and if it grenades, an MRO will replace it.
