Speaking of , what was the deal with the goofy Colt prototypes in the '80s?  Was one of their engineers infatuated with dimetrodons? Seriously, what was the point?

Black powdAR anyone? I think it would be funny to have one of these and watch a liberal cry when they find out it's a modern musket.

How about pump action?

Pistol grip pump by my side..

Straight pull bolt action!

If it's pump action that you want, I have that:

(Note: I later added nylon guides, which made it quieter and smoother to operate.)

Not much to it, really.  I built a carrier (basically, a tube with some guides on the sides) for the pump that rides inside the Geissele Mk4 rail and then used an op rod to push on the gas key.  The bottom M-Lok slots (well, most of them) were connected into one long track and the AFG was attached to the carrier with two screws.  The gas block is a long steel low-pro one (MI, I believe) mounted backwards to cover the gas port.  I also had to trim the anti-rotation tabs on the Geissele to make it fit the ASA side-charger, which it now does very tightly.

Did all that because Rochester's 5-round magazine limit only applies to semi-auto rifles, not manually operated (yipee, I would just fall under the NYS' 10-round limit.)  Unfortunately, they wrote it such that having a > 5-round magazine makes a rifle into an AW, but also (missed this originally) that just possessing a > 5-round magazine (no requirement to own a semi-auto) is illegal.  As such, it was shelfed.  Geissele and pump parts are currently off the ASA.  May keep it just in case Hillary gets elected or NYSAFE II gets enacted.

I really like that top one, maybe I'm crazy, but it's sexy.

The lower one is a 3 gun rig I'm pretty sure so it would have scope that attaches.  Who needs iron sights anymore pshhhhhh! If you're going to run those colors, you better be winning.

Any info on this one?  It would be perfect (well, almost; perfect would be if the other side were removable instead) for a project that I am working on.

Was mildly excited, only $185, then you go to the buy page and it jumps to $285
I'd consider it for $185, not another $100...

I'm really torn on that one.  Obviously a LOT of work, some of it quite good, went into that build.  But I sell those Magpul plastic forends.  For like $35.  I get that they're more functional than the previous plastic handguards, but they're still $35 of plastic.  For the money, if I was going that route, w/ that much engraving, I think I'd want custom wood, particularly if it was to be carved.  It looks good, though.  That's the fanciest Magpul forend I've seen.
