It looks like it has a lot of desirable parts on it.  The goal is to have a look alike to the M4A1 carbine but with a 16" barrel.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks

If you tried to buy an upper, BCG, rail, charging handle and buis from palmetto separately it would cost more (unless you caught a weekend deal), so I would say it's not bad.  Plus, it's Colt

Great upper. But Cheaper Than Dirt is everything but. Shop around. You will probably find the same upper cheaper someplace else. Remember that the SOCOM barrel is heavier than the standard M4 barrel. A regular 6920 would serve you well too.

Great price, but be aware that the rail is a Troy, not a KAC like on issued M4A1s

On a side note, you can get a KAC RAS rails directly from KAC site for $150 but it will have blemishes and are considered "seconds" as in they were for the military contract but failed to meet spec. http://shop.knightarmco.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=KM98064-S

I bought two the carbine sized and the rifle rails. One had a weird color on the heat shield and the carbine model had different colored purplish rails. They come with the NSN and other markings all on them.

So if it really bothers you that you get a Troy instead of a KAC, then just know you don't have to spend a ton to get that corrected and you're getting something that was meant for the military contract but failed for silly reasons.

If you want a SOPMOD clone, the BCM site had at one point sold DD RIS II rails that had the NSN markings and CAGE codes.

Just wanted to share this side note if you plan to go that route.
