I just traded into a brand new BCM M4 carbine.  Has a mid length gas system.  This is the first mid length I have ever owned/handled.  The rifle came with a Magpul handguard.  I hate the feel of it.  So my question is who makes a set of mid length handguards?  Does anyone actually make double shielded mid length handguards like Colt does for their 6920?  I want to keep this a light weight carbine, so I don't want a rail setup for it.  Any help would be appreciated.

BCM's website only shows BCM Carbine style or Magpul handguards.  No mid length ones.  I will have to check Armalite's website.

I too had the moe handguards and i didnt like them. I got a set of the RRA midlength handguards. They are skinny, so they only have one heat shield. I like them a lot on my carbine. Here is a pic

Looks good.  Mine came with the new Gunfighter stock and grip.  I was shocked at how light the rifle was.  It wasn't until I got home and dug out a tape measure, that I realized the barrel was 14.5 inches with a permanent Gunfighter Mod 1Compensator.  The more I handle it, the more I am impressed with BCM build quality.

Just an FYI, it would not be a M4 with a mid-length gas system. It would just be a mid-length carbine. A M4 has a carbine gas system and a M4 profile barrel.

I think I made out pretty well in the deal.  I traded an HK USP45 straight across for the BCM.

You done very good. I traded a mint DW 357 a few months ago for a like new Colt SOCOM Upper with Colt BCG and CH and a Battlecomp pin and welded. I think I did good but boy do I miss looking at myself in the bluing on that revolver. I never even shot it, it had only been shot 15 times and it looked like it. My plan was to build my own pistol pack for it, but don't have the funds for that right now. But man do I love this upper, so as long as the buyer is as happy as I am it is a good deal for everyone.
