A buddy of mine has one and I liked it but wondering how it holds up prior to getting one myself. His is fairly new so he doesn't know

I'm not sure which Badger latch you're referring to. But I have a couple of their Gen.2 tactical latches, and like them a lot. One of them has been on my ArmaLite since 2007, and is still G2G.

I prefer the BCM charging handles personally. The Tactical Latch I had a few years ago felt like an awkward angle to pull from compared to the BCM (mod 4).

The Badger Ord. tactical latch has been around for many years now. Although other designs have come along since, the Badger Ord. tactical latch still works.

This.  The BCM smooths out the process, YMMV.

Though I'm not a fan of their latches, I would say that's a result of Badger overall. They make some seriously bombproof stuff.

I had one for years without issue. I sold that AR. All mine now have BCM mod 3. Edit: I do agree with a poster above that the angle feels funny. Especially vs the BCM. With that said, I never had an issue. I would be fine with another one.

I've got a couple Gen 1's and they're great. They are a lot bigger than they look.

GTG. Badger makes a lot of stuff being used by the Military.

My unit replaced all the latches on our M16 and M4s in 2009 with the big ass TAC lactch.

I wasn't a fan of it. Got hung up on straps alot and dug in your back when slung.

I thought it was too big. BCM Mod 4 for me.

I have Badger latches on two of my builds, not sure what' it's called but it's the big square one. The oldest one is about 5 years, no issues with either. Good gear. For $18 it's an inexpensive upgrade. I like BCMs handles and the fact they come in S/M/L (Large BCM is closest to Badger sizewise) but if I upgrade to a new handle I'd probably grab Ranier Arms ambidexterous Raptor instead.
