For those who care, this is the response i received from EoTech. I wonder if it was Military or Police?

"It appears to be real. Most likely a department owned sight that has been serialized so that they can keep track of their inventory.

Thank You,

I'd say it looks more like something a police dept would do.

Quick Question,
What is the now standard issue for optics for the MK18 because of the whole Eotech Fiasco?
Pic for attention... SF3P comes in tomorrow!

Debating the practicality of m3x versus tan surefire M300C or M600U... No experience with lumen/power versus surefire. What would you guys chose?

The m3x is cool for cloning and all but as far as lumens, most newer surefires hit it out of the park. Even the LED m3x isn't THAT much better. ***This is just my opinion- please don't flay me y'all.

I need some info on verifying authenticity of a GL/SSC rail. Don't have any photos except the markings just under pic rail that do indeed say gl/ssc. What are some other ways I can verify that this unicorn is real?!!! Also, has anybody even seen knockoffs of these around? I hear stickman has some knowledge on this, can anyone here get me in touch with him?  Thanks.

I use M600C's on mine. More period correct than a U and seems to be a few pictures of them in the wild.

Still EOTech stuff I believe unless something drastic changed in the last few months. They may not be buying new ones, but the same current options are out there (Elcans, EOTechs, Aimpoints, ACOGs).

I like to go light and then dark over the top personally.  Use the shit out of it to give it some wear.

Beauty is if you end up disliking it at some point a new camo is a spray away.

So, I feel like I need more M203 in my life now... thegreatdanton will chime in soon and tell me to go get one... I'd settle for an LMT receiver and unobtanium 37mm tube for one...

Is this a reference to PEQ eating batteries like a fat kid and cupcakes? I thought it was just mine... if I put a battery next to my ATPIAL-C I think it kills it... the battery I mean. Before I know it, i'm swapping them... that B5 SOPMOD buttstock with battery compartment tho...[%|

Yeah - people who hate on EOTech yet have a bunch of L3 shit on their gun make me laugh.

I heard LMT is planning on releasing 37mm tubes in a couple months. By the time that happens mine should be approved anyways. The LMT is just a title 1 receiver.

yeah copy that on the title 1, was looking at the barrel mounted ones pretty hard to justify an early GWOT M4A1 clone... would love to shoot some parachute flares and other cool guy rounds out of it... thanks for sharing!

and although I returned most of my eotechs... I still have a 512 and XPS 2-0 in the safe mounted to a couple of guns... hard to beat the reticle, and these are still going strong after being serviced a couple of years ago

Just give it a good spray of something over that job.  Doesn't even need to hide it completely.  Just make it flatter.  It does look like eggs.  LOL.  Better to try and fail than not try at all.  At least that's what I keep telling myself.

For those that have done it, what do you recommend for paint removal? I bought some items and soaked them with CLP three times for about 2-3 hrs and one piece overnight and it was still a pain in the dick to remove the paint. I used CLP based on a "manual" or something someone posted on here that was a PDF of the info/instructions when they were authorized to paint weapons for combat.

I used citristrip and now kleen strip. kleen strip is a little more powerful it even removed the factory paint fill on my spikes lower that citristrip didn't and it works faster.

The rifles they were attached to were a limited production model.  Thus, there are not very many of them.

Haha well you asked for it.

Just spray one full coat of th light color. Let dry for a little bit. Then hit just a couple spots randomly with the dark in no pattern. And less is more with the dark. Two or three areas is plenty.

And... here... we... go...

Next decision: go for short term gratification and start hunting down the remaining small parts each month, or save for a couple and get the Surefire RC on order soonest?

Hmmmm.

The answer to that is always suppressor.  Especially now with the wait times so long you can build the upper while you wait for the stamp

Yep and there was a point where Noveske blew out a bunch of the RIS rails, MK18 and M4A1 for around $250 ea if I remember right.
