One thing I've noticed with MARSOC recently they get three uppers issued where SEALs and SF usually deploy with only two (other's locked up at home station I'm assuming as they have to be turned back in as originally issued). Those three are a Block II 10.3" and 14.5" and a standard M4A1 14.5" FSB KAC RIS all with KAC NT4 FH. SEALS and SF have a DD Mk18 RIS II 10.3 low profile and 14.5" either a M4A1 DD RIS II low profile or FSB. Each with the Surefire 4P FH.

Mk18-1 and HK45c

^ Solid info - thanks for sharing. Sorry for all the questions but your posts just raise more - how are the serial markings put on the uppers? What I mean is, are the serial numbers on the uppers a sticker of some kind, are they stenciled on, are the numbers laser-engraved, etc? ...I for one have plans for another CQBR clone, and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to reproduce the upper serial number

I would say etched or laser engraved (not positive). I'll look closer next time I work on one. Stuck in transit at point B between A and C.

Many local trophy shops have computer controlled Fiber lasers these days. They are down to around $800 a month to rent/lease now. If you research "industrial laser engraving" in your area you will most likely find one. I'd try that route before sending it anywhere. With the computer the laser displays the work before it cuts so ask the operator if you can check out the work first

What about getting one of those underslung shotguns? The M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System. You could mount it sideways on one of the side rails.

Im curious for those of you with 10.5 Mod 0 uppers, do you guys prefer AR15 BCG's or Full Auto BCG's? Also what buffers and springs are you guys typically running? I have a 10.5 AndroCorp Industies upper so not 100% sure on the gas block size but I had a friend who gave me his AR15 BCG. Debating on switching over to a heavier full auto BCG and a H2 buffer or if a AR15 BCG will work fine, my LMT lower comes with just a carbine buffer. Curious what some of you guys are running

On CQBR's? Block I and II? Seems like more of an M4 type optic.

What the fuck do you think CQBRs, Block 1s, and Block 2s are? Pellet guns? Here's a hint: They're all the same thing with the exception of different furniture and one having a shorter barrel.

ACOGs are the standard issue optic for the Marine Corps, so Marine's are already very familiar with it and they are already in the system. It makes sense some would prefer that optic over others.

I know all that, but you don't see too many pics of ACOG's on them and there definitely seems to be more RDS seen on them. But your point is valid. I know they are capable of being shot a pretty fair poke.

Now, let me say this, in my other thread you jumped all over me, I asked nicely if people wanted to help me out with my questions. So I have no clue why you came in my thread, have a shitfit because I'm asking questions that annoy you. You didn't have to even go in there. I'm not sure what I did to make you so angry with me, but I'm sorry that I do. I don't mean to. But dude, you might need a little bit of live and let live in your life. FIFY...

I think what JJ is really referring to was the barrel length vs. the velocity drop and really being able to use the calibrated reticle of the ACOG effectively at distance on a CQBR. While the platform is designed for CQB situations and not for shooting groups at 400 or 600 meters, I can understand where he's coming from....

Plus, not all of us can afford Elcans.

All I need is for someone to "look away" for 10 minutes and "drop" the keys to the AHA.

While the platform is designed for CQB situations and not for shooting groups at 400 or 600 meters, I can understand where he's coming from....

Plus, not all of us can afford Elcans.

I actually forgot about the calibration thing. But I was thinking Close Quarters meant Close Quarters and I would think RDS are the better choice for that. But I do remember KevinB saying that their 11.5 SBR's were working out to 400 meters with a can and M855. Except I think they were running eotechs on their AR's at the time. I'm sure it would be much easier to make hits at 400 with an ACOG. But I hear talk of people struggling with the BAC at close range. So......

I think we need some pics of CQBR's with ACOGs on them. CD?????

I'll see what I can do. Most the Marines where I'm at the moment are support for MARSOC and they're just running standard M4s with ACOGs.
