Posted this a few pages ago, but I think it was lost among pics, and other convo, so I dont want any mods thinking Im spamming...
Does anyone have a broken insight dual remote switch or a broken SR-D-IT remote switch they would off load for cheap.... Thinking i am going to undertake a project for the CQBR in hope of getting it NV ready, but I really dont want to cut up new switches. One of these two would be the ticket... obviously.. Just would need the Insight housing to still be utilized...Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, |

I used Aervoe on my scope last week, and it took three days to dry and was still tacky. I also noticed that stuff clumps up, and it's easy to get blotches if you spray too much at once. One thing to note however, Aervoe holds up and seems to be the most rugged of all the other piss can options. |

OK! So I'm sending a 16" inch Daniel Defense M4 profile barrel out to ADCO tomorrow morning to be chopped to 10.3" inch and have some port work done.
I've measured my port side to side, front to back etc and I'm consistently getting a measurement of 0.055 so I have room to pick my port size. So listening to all you guys whine, bitch and go back and forth on Mk18/10.3" port sizes, sounds like DD makes two port sizes. The Mil-Spec size being .070, and the commercial size is .080 or so correct? The point in the bigger port is for crap ammo that non-Military sports shooters use correct? Part of me wants to go .070 simply because it's the Mil-Spec and hard to get 10.3" inch DD barrels in .070 but I exclusively shoot cheap ammo such as Tula, Herters, Silver Bear etc. I do use XM-193 and M855 for SD and hunting. If I go with .070, can I adjust out issues with a different weight buffer? I currently have a Colt M4A1 Carbine lower which from the factory, includes the H2 buffer. Thoughts, suggestions and or advice? |

Why invite problems with the .070 port. Perceived problems that may arise with the larger port are easily corrected. |

I probably should have mentioned that this build is eventually going to get a surefire SOCOM and I will probably run that exclusively. Looks like from what I'm reading because of the fact that I'm getting that I might want the smaller gas port size? Or do you guys still think bigger?

Once its gone...its gone. If you're REALLY concerned, start small and try it out. Need more, open it more. repeat until desired effect is reached. You're probably thinking too much into it. Go spec. View Quote Your solution is a good adjustable gas block like the GovNah. (not clone approved if that is your goal). I have two that are similer to the Govnah. (I'm a machinist and machined my own, so didn't have to spend coin, but if you've got a MK18/CQBR and Socom can you can afford a GovNah). With my Socom on I run a .049 gas port, not .070 or .082, and it's smooth as silk. Several others in this thread also run adj. gas blocks. Do you HAVE TO RUN an adj? Of course not, but they really do make for a smooth running suppressed carbine. |

This barrel already has an Mk12, pinned to it. This was the barrel I had on my M4A1 RIS II build, just re-purposing it. Makes sense to start small and go bigger as needed. Just going to ask them to do it at .070 an if it doesn't like cheap ammo, I'll buy a drill bit and open it up more. Sounds easy to do with a hand drill or small drill press, I found several other threads where people had to use a drill bit to open these barrels up in general as the gas post is small for even the 16" size. I guess spec is 0.063 but they come 0.055 which some people had issues with using cheap ammo. I've always used cheap ammo and never had issues on this barrel so I may not going to 10.3" .070 either. OK thanks! Side note, what turn around times have you guys experienced with ADCO? |
