That was a low blow about the CAR stock, you hurt its old, outdated feelings.

All these off topic posts. Do you guys just want to watch the world burn? Let me save it by posting a boring ass picture of my boring ass rifle that I took the other day, while playing with the idea of sticking a waffle stock on it.. Going to spraybomb the lower this summer when it gets hot enough to bake the paint on.

The easiest way to fix that is flipping it over before you take the picture.

Most of their blem receivers arent laser etched IIRC

They don't etch their stripped uppers at all.
Link Posted: 3/18/2015 9:53:16 PM EDT
[Last Edit: bending_rodriguez] [#11]
Yep like these guys said, the stripped blem uppers arent marked at all.
They're pretty much all I use for upper builds anymore.

And by blem they mean small scuffs pretty much, thats the worse Ive seen, and even then the "blems" are barely noticeable.

The marked receivers only come with their preassembled uppers.

It's incredible how hard/expensive they are to find, now, isn't it? Part of the reason I have been thinking about taking the N1 off of this rifle is I don't want to paint it, or ding it up. I tend to be rough on stuff when I'm shooting, and the N1 was starting to show it. How lame is it that a chunk of plastic from less than 30 years ago is now a collector's item?

I might try to trade my way into one even if its beat up. I wonder if theres anywhere to find em milsurp

You could pick one up from M&A that you wouldn't mind abusing, and preserve the N1.

This is what I did, $125.00 fixes it

That's crossed my mind, too. I've got the other stocks on hand, though, haha. All of my gun money has been going towards buying a 5.56 suppressor and a PVS-14, lately, though.

Since we're on the topic of Colt CAR stocks on CQBRs, I just noticed this the other day. An added benefit, that I hadn't really thought of, of the CAR stock over the SOPMOD stock is the reduced overall length of the weapon.

A Colt CAR stock on my factory Colt "Commando" with an 11.5" barrel and a crush washer/A2 is nearly the same size as my Block II CQBR with a 10.3" barrel, LMT SOPMOD and the thinest shim/KAC NT4 flash hider. Both weapons have identical Colt 4-position tubes and, while it doesn't look like it in the pic, they're both resting at an eyeballed-even spot on the table.  (Yes, I know the Commando's selector is off safe)
