What exactly are those emitters? I saw them posted for sale, but I have never seen them prior to that.  What do they do?

Did the L.I.T.E ship to you from the Virginia Beach area?

I saw one pop up and almost jumped on it just because.

So is it just a green light? Does it have any IR settings?

According to the weapon evolution article, different colors and an IR version were planned, but I cant answer if one was ever produced. If one was skilled enough, I'm sure the LED might able to be swapped out and if someone picked one up for cheap enough, it wouldnt be a huge loss if it didn't work. Maybe take a Lasermax UNI IR and disassmble both to see if you could put the Lasermax UNI IR guys into the Insight;s Housing and rig up the pressure switch accordingly.

Holy motherfuck, I'm retarded. Not even 5min of having my new S&S Precision mount and I've already destroyed it. I really am an infantryman. Apparently it's not a good fit with the RIS II.

At least it was only $130 bucks.

Sucks, bro!

I do hate that they don't have helicoils on such a pricey mount. This is an issue with most of their mounts and I've been lucky not to strip them (so far).

It should work with the RIS II, but it's so low profile that you might have to have that Ultra bezel out front of the rail.

It looks like you still have some usable threads that, with a little blue Loctite, will keep you in business.

Also, try installing the mount without the bezel, then screw the bezel on afterward.

Yeah, this sucks. If I have the bezel out infront of the rail it presses up against the Surefire suppressor.

I guess I could zip tie this fucker on.

Shit, man. Possible to swap the bolt out for one ~1/8" longer so you can use those threads that still look usable and still be able to tighten down properly?

Ahhh. If that's the case, then I think you're going to be stuck using either the old KX2C bezel or one of the new Vampire ones.

KE2-A. M600U. S&S IFM Rigid mount.

I'll contact them tonight and see what they can do. Even if I do get another one, I'm going to have get a one of the newer Vampire heads and they don't make them in FDE anyone, of course. Fuck me.

This sucks ...if they won't help you out you could try the longer screw as a few suggested - or try rethreading to a size up with a tap/die setup..

Determine the screw size then go to your local auto parts store (or check the thread at the parts house). They usually have Helicoil kits on hand. Most come with the drill, tap, insert tool and a handful of inserts. Probably run you $25. Super easy fix.

That's not a bad idea. The biggest problem though is even if I do fix it, I can't use this M600U bezel head. I'm going to have to some how get a newer Vampire head(I don't even know if that'll even fit) in FDE, which those cocksuckers at Surefire don't make anymore, and not pay more than what I paid for the entire light.

This is how riots start.

I understand all that. But repairing it with a Helicoil would probably net you some of your money back if you decide to go another direction.

Did you cross thread it and try to power through or did you do it while tightening?

Cross threaded it while tightening. The bezel head was pressing on the handguard while tightening.

Talked to the old man. He said he can fix it. He has one of those thread fixer uppers.

Worst day ever. Even worse than that day in basic when the DEFAC didn't have Nutrigrain bars.

We never had any of those.

They did make some killer french toast at ours, but you had to be towards the front of the line to be lucky enough to get any.

I'm cloning my own gun, so once I put something on it, it imediately becomes clone correct.

Also, if you put your hand over the riser part, the back of it kinda looks like a LMT rear BUIS,....so.....

What's more, there has to be at least like,....2,..maybe even 3 actual clone correct parts on there, so I'm still technically ahead of some guys on here, lol.

Odd question maybe, but does anyone have a Tan MX3 LED upgrade kit with the bezel they don't want? Or maybe you have one and want to trade for the incandescent version for clonely reasons.

Let me know!

Stealth.......send it to me brother and I'll insert a Heli-coil or some other style insert I have and we'll see what we can do. Pretty sure something can be done to make it like new or better. Sent you an IM

Still need to do a few more things to this one.  The KAC 200-600 micro is a place holder until I pick up a Matech.  Still need to get a front CQD sling mount and a KAC NT4 flash hider.  The 10.5" barrel already bugs me so it will eventually got to ADCO to get cut to 10.3".

Overall though I'm pretty happy with it.  My original SBR build was a 10.3" Block I CQBR but I convinced myself I wanted an 11.5 and sold it to build a different non clone upper.  I ended up not being happy with that so I sold it and used the funds to get back into a CQBR build.  It's not perfect but I didn't have extra cash to throw at it.  The little details will happen as funds allow.

My Block 1-ish build is almost done. Yes there are non-kosher parts but it's close enough for me. Already have a KAC VFG. Got a used Matech on the way. Just need the RAS, Wilcox mount, and a BE Meyers 556ASR muzzle device. It has a Bootleg Inc adjustable bolt carrier since I will be shooting this both suppressed and unsuppressed. Noveske barrel gas ports are huge. Even with the carrier I might still need to bump up the buffer to an H3.

Anyone use wolf gold .223 or PPU m193? I'm running out of imi and was thinking of trying one of those two.

Wolf Gold has run flawlessly in my DD barrel with H2. About normal as far as accuracy goes, but I've never tried to shoot it for groups, just zeroing and blasting.

I had to use a H3 buffer with my Noveske 10.5''.  Ejection is nice and at 4 o'clock every time with mk262.

I have a lot of PPU tucked away and I have never had a problem with it. Good to buy and stash.

Search Molon's "Attack of the Clones" thread for a well-executed comparison of some M193 loads.

Works great for me with 2 colt barrels with .070 ports and H2 buffers. I get 2-2.5MOA

Same here, Wolf Gold has become my go to pinker/range fodder ammo - I don't even reload 55gr anymore, it's just not cost effective really (although I do stockpile the brass and components, because you never know).

Now for distance /precision or sight-in work, I stick with MK262 or BH 77gr OTM, and want to check out the IMI 77gr that everyone likes so much, but otherwise WG gets the nod...
