Never seen the m33, no idea what unit uses them.

As for the m231 (the new eotech), I've only seen it with units outside of socom. (ex. Navy EOD)

20th SF Group posted a photo on IG of an M231 on a 240. Hoping some more photos surface of them being fielded.

Cross pollination of standard issue equipment within SOCOM is inevitable. However, the EOTech magnifier we will likely be seeing more of in the future is the MAS-D configuration.

Along with the new CQS component:

Those aren't M4-2000s. They're Knights Taupe NT4s with a really shitty pixelated jpg compression. You can see the gate latches. They're just standard early GWOT CQBRS before the adoption of the SF SOCOM.

For certain the rifle on the left has a Knights NT4 style suppressor, it's the one on the right that's a bit more suspect. There's been speculation posted before asserting this picture is airsoft and I'm inclined to agree. Besides the suppressor mis-match there are other things that stand out as anomalous:

- Commercially marked SU-231's (L3 Engraving on battery housing)
- Commercially marked SU-233 (Black label M3X sticker)
- PEQ-15's (not LA-5's)
- Closed dust covers (Yes, I'm serious.)

I could go on about their kit, but I think this post by Eric on page 873 seals the deal—No pun intended.

I haven't posted in one of these clone threads in a long time, but figured that I'd throw a few pics in here since I got a few new items. Sometime in 2023 I ended up with another original Mk18 FSP handguard, this is the 2nd one I've owned (sold the other one a few years ago). About the same time, I stumbled across a CQBR marked barrel. I know that the barrel is much earlier than the rail, but I just think that they'll look pretty cool together (rare parts are interesting).

What optic should I put on the Mk18 FSP? I have an Elcan and Eotech in hand, so those would be easy for me to drop on the upper when it's complete. Or should I use a scope of a different upper or buy something new? I have an Eotech on my other Mk18 upper, so I'm kinda leaning towards the Elcan.

Mk18 FSP with another rare handguard, both are 100% original, and not cut-down or modified in any way:

It's interesting to see the 3 different Block II uppers next to each other, this gives you a good idea of how long each upper is. If I go to a clone shoot, I'll bring all 3 uppers, so fellow enthusiasts can try out each length and see how they handle. I removed the lasers, lights, etc. so that they're easier to compare with each other. It's interesting that the GL/SSC isn't too much shorter than the M4A1, but the Mk18 is much shorter than the GL/SSC. This is because there's more exposed barrel on the M4A1, when compared to the GL/SSC and Mk18. I mainly collect USMC stuff, so that's why I have the M4A1 and Mk18 set-up with the NT4 flash hiders, instead of the SF 4 prong. The Mk18 is a nice, compact upper compared to the other 2 uppers.

Top to bottom: M4A1, GL/SSC, Mk18

With their respective silencers:

If anyone wants to see more comparison photos, please let me know, I can always post more photos. I think it's interesting seeing all 3 uppers together, and there's not many photos around that show all 3 uppers (I also posted a few photos showing 5 different Block II uppers a few years ago). Hopefully you guys find these comparisons as interesting as I do!

This whole post is amazing, love the GL/SSC. As for the Mk 18 FSP, that's begging for an Eotech 553.

Nice rifle! It looks like our Mk18 FSP handguards were made on the same day in the same lot! I haven't seen many of these Mk18 FSP rails, they're almost as rare/expensive as a legit GL/SSC rail! I really like the iron sights only look that your rifle has, it's very clean. I just traded some parts to a buddy for a DRMO'd surplus Aimpoint T1 with issued Daniel Defense mount. The T1 and a KAC rear sight should look pretty clean as well.

I really like the iron sights only look that your rifle has, it's very clean. I just traded some parts to a buddy for a DRMO'd surplus Aimpoint T1 with issued Daniel Defense mount. The T1 and a KAC rear sight should look pretty clean as well.

I played around with the Elcan on this for awhile but eventually came to the determination that a dot or no sights at all was the way I would enjoy it the most.

Edit: The whole upper was originally a 14.5" marketing piece for BCM years back that I eventually came into possession of and had the barrel chopped.  The GL/SSC will always be the unfulfilled slot in my safe unless DD releases a variant in their new  configuration of the RIS rails.

Anyone have pics of a mk18 using carbine handguards instead of a RIS or RAS? I thought I've seen one before but after scrolling through dozens of pages I can't find it.

Apologies in advance as I couldn’t readily find any photos in the wild but was curious if the DD MK18 RIS III FDE MLOK rails are being used on any M4 CQBR Block II’s or is MLOK exclusive for the USASOC URG1’s?

Question In reference to Surefire's reproduction of the 4 prong. Doesn't ping like the 3 prong? I have the war comp but looking for something else. I have a RC2 and shoot suppressed 87% of the time. Thanks
