And they are the set screw type, not pinned...at least mine isn’t.

I believe CD said that is how they are in the wild, too, right?

Take that DD upper off and sell it.  Should be able to get $80-$90 for it, so you’re into the RIS II Rail with a barrel/gb/gas tube for about the same price as just the rail from DD.  Then grab a Colt upper to slap it all on.  That’s what I did (just took me forever to finally complete the task, LoL)!

Also, how did you snag that upper for less than $600 shipped?!  Do tell

Now you guys have me looking at DD uppers!! I am a dealer and had a few lines and n Colt 14.5s and barrels of lots of flavors, but like all things Colt, they dried up. I have been trying to find wholesale prices on DD uppers, but no luck. I am too much of a small fry to buy into a program

Lol. Only found out about it when I went on that Mk18 URG/RIS II buying spree a while back. I was expecting them pinned like my old one but nope - legit Mk12 and nicely double dimpled installation on both.

At least all the DD 10.3 barrels are now coming pre-dimpled for the Mk12 AFAIK, so that's one less hassle if you're sourcing parts individually.

I was literally just now now searching for the m4 pic with the Samson evo rail. I knew the two were tied together somehow. Thanks for posting that!

eta- I thought pic looked like a cd pic, but wasn't sure.

That’s good enough for me. I don’t mind rocking a mini monster. Same internals, just shorter and nastier.

I don't see the cutout.

Edit, looked too quick. Now I do

What barrel length is that then? I thought 10.3” at first, but not if that’s a fsb rail.

While the 28th frequently supports SOCOM, they do not fall under its command or within its supply chain. Therefore, they never had SF4P's to begin with. However, their close proximity and working relationship with a certain SMU has obviously influenced much of their gear and equipment selection. They were early adopters of Surefire suppressors and riser mounted holographic weapon sights. What you see are legacy SF 556-Mini's and FH556-212a flash hiders.

Those SF556-212’s are pretty cheap at AU with that flash hider.

On a completely different note, had a conjugal visit with my corn cob tonight.  Only another year or so Still needs an EOTECH and it’s own lower.

Be advised the suppressor and flash hider in your link are both different from those depicted above. AU's inventory consists of the full length '212 suppressor and FH556-411a muzzle adapter (intended for use with the M249 SAW.)
