JParrish - you'll need the mount he has on the TA31, your TA01 doesn't have those bolts.
Also - just ordered the DD FDE Duracoat for the rail once it's chopped. I know it's not perfect, but it'll be a good fast solution... |

The Mk12 is what has always been known as the correct CQBR B2 gas block around here. I'm sure CD receives gas blocks from other government contracting companies as well though, same as the ambi selectors, carriers, and bolts he receives for rebuilds aren't Colt, but contracted replacement parts. |

A lot of the parts I got for standard M4s were not always colt as well. Just like you find M1 Garands that were rebuilt using other manufactures parts. The tech servicing he rifle doesn't care about the markings on the part or who made it. |

FedEx is generally pretty solid. Main post office here is still closed from " flooding" in early October here. Somehow it is literally the only building for miles that was affected... And it's still closed..

Gas port question in relation to the Mk18 10.3 inch barrel.
So I've got that full DD Mk18 upper with the 10.3" inch that has the .070 gas port. It feeds and cycles 100% with all ammo, be it XM193, M885, TAP, TAP-FDP, PMC, Golddot, Tula, Wolf, HSM etc. I did notice though when I run Tula and or Wolf (which I have a metric shit ton of) it feels very springy and slow. It still functions though, it just doesn't snap the way it does with the XM193, M885 or other higher quality ammo. Currently running a factory Colt H2 buffer and spring that comes in the Colt M4A1 Carbine SOCOM II lower. I think DD ships all their rifles with the H buffer, would going to an H help any for cheaper ammo? This is my home defense, SHTF and ISIS attacks rifle so for those purposes its always loaded with TAP-FPD or Golddots. If SHTF I wouldn't be grabbing Tula or Wolf on the way out my door, I keep some cases of XM193 and M855 for that. All of that said I don't think I need to consider opening up the gas port any right now as I for the most part would be running quality ammo when it counts. For those of you running .070 gas ports who have run cheap ammo did you play with buffers at all? |
