Makes me want to rip the 68 off of the CQBR and toss it on the Mod 0.

No. You have to use the BB Code or something with .jpg and [img] tags.

Hey guys, I'm having short stroking problems with my MK18 Mod 0.  I have a H buffer in it and I can't recall if the H2 would help the problem or if I should go lighter on the buffer.
The gas port is .070.

If you're short stroking a heavier buffer will not help. Try a carbine buffer and see if it cycles better.

That's what I thought it I couldn't remember. For some reason I was thinking heavier buffer=longer dwell time=better function.

But I've been hit in the head a lot, so.... lol

What ammo? That barrel needs full-pressure 5.56, especially if not run suppressed.

Colt SOCOM barrel cut down by ADCO and it does it with IMI 62 grain, lake city M855, black hills 77grain, IMI M193, and lake city M193.

It should function fine then. Look for gas leaks, make sure the BCG travels all the way to the rear. Are you sure the mags and bolt catch are good? Is there any binding/friction when the bolt cycles?

doesn't seem to bind when cycling by hand, and all my mags are new.
I'll check the bolt catch tho.

Thanks for the ideas

One more thing. Are you sure they opened the port to .070"? If it's still .062", short stroking would be expected.

Swapped the H buffer for a carbine and ran a mag through it with only one fail to feed. But that might have been my fault. I'll swap the bolt catch tomorrow and see how she runs.

Check the chamber too.  A rough chamber robs recoil energy from the BCG when extracting spent casing.

MK18 MOD0 clone which started from LE6920 SOCOM 16.1".  Then it became MK18 MOD0  with 14.5 SOCOM barrel.  Early this year, had imported the 10.3" upper up here.

Been lurking in this thread for a while, and as usual my wallet will suffer for it. First it was the Mk12, and now it seems I have to have a MK18 Mod 1. BRD claims another victim. :-(

Been watching the EE without luck, so if anyone has a line on a Mod 1 (prefer to buy rather than build from parts) please shoot me a PM or email.  Thx!

Will

Boss.  Although not sure why they calling it a Mod 1 - shouldn't that be BKII?

I like the M4...after my failed experiment with the EoTech (astigmatism) I'm looking for a new BKII optic.  Heart says Elcan, but wallet not agreeing right now lol.

Found that on Google images. I recognized it immediately.

I also found a pic of an issued gun with a CompM4 on a LaRue mount, but I can't get my pics from imgur to work and photobucket is completely fucked.

People call it a Mod 1 because the rail says Mk18 and the Mod 0 is the one with the RAS/FSB combo.

I bought a 2-600 micro off of someone on the EE

Kinda hard to pick up from the picture, but the base is straight and the stalk leans to the left.

Also because that's what Alan Brown called it; I don't figure he's wrong.

If it zeros and tracks then you're still good. Only way to know for sure is to shoot it

Ah OK - see I thought it was RIS = Mod 0, RAS = MOD1/BKI, DD = BKII.  But I'm stupid like that sometimes lol.

I got a few of those sights a few years back. one of them leans like yours and is dialed to the right like that as well when zeroed. it zeroes and shoots fine, and although I just set mine at "2" and zero for 50 meters, I shot it out to 500m using the drum rotation when dialing for distance on a KD range. shot great. you'll be fine.

I asked DD and they said it is. Also has a dimpled barrel and set screw gas block, as opposed to the pinned block on their commercial uppers, and has the smaller DD logo rather than the tacky bullet etching.

They also were selling Expanse Lowers advertised as LE6920's at one point.
