I wonder how weird that would feel?

No, just a plain push back & forth cross-bolt safety.  No reason, but y'all are the folks w/ the experience to do it.

Yeah... I don't know about this. It would work...

I don't think it would have a huge following.

Excellent quality and the best customer service in the industry, or any other industry for that matter.

I think it would work, but there's no particular reason to do so - unless one was engaged in making an AR lower from an untested plastic, and thus had to make the walls much thicker than any other AR lower...

The spring & detent pin would remain the same, & keep the pin from rotating, & lock each position into place.

There's probably no market in it whatsover, just an odd corner in the box that no one's ever wandered into before.  But it would work on any AR receiver, no matter the thickness.

To a point... I encountered a .308 receiver that measured 0.96", a push button safety would disappear in such a receiver

Ah, but extensions are easily glued to a cross-bolt safety - your BAD ASS is the most flexible I've found & I still plan to Red Loctite extension screws to make it work.  A cross-bolt safety could possibly be more reliable than jerry-rigging your excellent device.

Not positive yet, but I'm guessing the Feinstein Lower will be @ least 1 & 1/8" wide - 4 bricks.  I might be able to get it down to 13/16", but that's going to be interesting interfacing w/ the stock.  The current build of the stock is 6 bricks wide to capture the buffer tube.

Did - did you MAKE one?  We're drinking fake shampagne over here just to your rendering, and you take an actual photo?  And by fake, I mean Welch's sparkling grape juice - best my roommate could do on short notice.

ETA:  Roommie has two lowers from you.  He likes 'em.
