What is everyone using for extended flash hiders to bring a 14.5" barrel to 16"? I was debating between the Adco extended A2 and the BCM XA2. Which one looks better? Or is a regular A2 and spacer a better option? Thanks.

In the absence of a plan, move toward the sound of gunfire and kill everything.

T1, Never saw a issued one. Comp M4s yes.
In fact the Comp M4 with the on / off knob down below (M4S) was made specifically for SOF. Reason; so keep it down out of shooters vision. The big Army kept knob up top solely because they wanted it to be same as old M2, even though it's larger and more obtrusive. Because you know they didn't trust soldiers to be able to find the new knob placement. So clone correct version CompM4S, knob down below. BTW..... SF turned in all Comp M4s around 2010/11ish for some unknown reason back to Big Army (Huge mistake in my mind). So that is how some regular Army have M4S on thier rifles. |

Yep.
The one statement that stood out is he said something to the degree of, Probably more enemies were put down with an M4/Mk18 with the Elcan than any other set up. I think basically as M4's go. Because the Elcan 1-4 just was that versatile and effective of an optic. I could get the exact quote if you want me to...... |

Probably because fiberlite are more compact (Smaller)
|
|
|
I liked the Fiberlight cause it was cool. The compactness and flat back were the physical reasons. Half the conventional and nearly all the SF guys had fiberlight stocks. I put the rubber butt pad on it which worked great for keeping the stock from slipping off the cordura on the body armor. I still have that original waffle, (M4) stock that I had in Iraq. It sits in a bin, never cared for them.
The M9 is an ok side arm. With good mags it is fairly reliable. I always called it a POS because I don't like it, but I do admit is not bad. There are much better; Sig, S&W, Glock, etc.... I hated the safety that had to be swept up to fire, the frame was too big for my hands, The exposed barrel was jammed with dirt on several occasions while being on the ground crawling while holstered. The SF guys all had Glocks. I own a Sig and a S&W. I don't care for Glocks but they are an excellent firearm. ETA: I changed the PG to a LSO my last 3 years in. I loved the Elcan! |
