Picked up some Gen 1 Mk 1 Redi-Mags in the EE for $25 each. Fits nicely on the Block 1.5.

Take the base and tweak with COTS parts. Sure it’s not clone correct but it’s got the vibe. I’ll say this the colt socom Barrel has some heft to it. Then again this is my first non NFA AR in a while. Now do I paint or leave black  Attached File |

Picked up a Colt Socom barrel from Arms unlimited, the FSB is not F marked but it's the correct height. Is this kosher for a block 1 clone or should I swap it for a F marked base?

I'd leave it be, plus it would be a pain to get a new FSB pin holes to match the taper pin holes in the barrel and not be canted. Both FSBs are correct at this point Colt no longer stamps the fsbs. |
