I have the spare listed in the EE as I planned to sell to recoup some funds that were used in the switch to Colt. Some of the funds may find their way into the m16a4 thread though

Made a few changes, wanted to be more Block I than standard issue.  Swapped the QRP mount for a Wilcox and swapped the Matech for a KAC full size 300m.  Also gave it some paint.

Well since it's bayonet page.....  I know it's not a 1.5 clone, but I've got bayonet action.  I did it as a joke for a friend that is into knives.  I wanted snap a pic for him.

The Lan-Cay cie ceased its activities at the death of its owner in 2011.
Lan-Cay cie was making very good material.
Ontario with the OKC-3S, and now, Tri-Technologies with the  06MA8 also produce very good bayonets.
From an aesthetic point of view, M9 PHROBIS are the most beautiful.

Well my Scout light didn't last long on here.  Went back to a m951.  With a Malkoff drop in this is a pretty solid light.  Plus I like the duel tail cap on here.  If Surefire makes the Tan M600u again I would have a second.  But for now it's gonna live on my Block 2.

LOL.  You got a lot nicer stuff than I do to slap on yours though.    I could probably learn to like an ACOG if I had one.

But I'm there with you.  I try to embrace the new stuff, but............  Well here's the deal, I've got this friend who let me join his family one deer season.  Great guy.  His Dad is a WWII vet, and not just some paper pusher if you know what I mean (battle of the bulge survivor).  He was old, and still hunted with an iron sighted Winchester lever gun in .32. You really think he's going to go to his grave thinking, damn I wish I had a red dot on my carbine?  Now maybe if he was fighting the Germans now he'd take an Aimpoint, I don't know.  But all I know is some simple stuff just works.   I shot more deer with irons than I did a scope.  Not to say I wouldn't have with an RDS, but there were times where the irons worked just fine, and didn't fog up in the process.

Anyways.......  I'll probably get a tongue lashing for that rant......

Block 1 and Block 2 side by side from shooting the other weekend.   Still not sure which one I would choose if I could only have one.
I really like the Block 1 with a red dot and the Block 2 with a magnified optic.

Built my wife another AR today.

Lower Anderson (she likes horses)
Colt 14.5" SOCOM w/ F FSB
Extended A2 FH
Surefire M73 rail (had a KAC RAS but too fat for her, she liked the Surefire, got the M73 when in Iraq 04' from 5th SFGA)
Spikes LPK w/grip
Waffle stock
H2 buffer
Mil Spec receiver extension
Matech BUIS
FN BCG
Mil Spec charging handle

This was close to what I carried in early 04' in Iraq with 5th SFGA, so consider block I (don't have a KAC 300m anymore).  Still need to put on the side sling swivel for her.

I'm assuming you are referring to CD's build list about the H2 buffer? Armsunlimited or Brownells is where I ordered my Colt H2 and H3 buffers

This is my first modern clone, so i have a couple questions.

-My ACOG came with the Larue RCO LT681 mount.  Are these correct to use, or is there another QD mount that is correct.

-I am a lefty, are there any AMBI safety selectors that are correct for Block I clones?

-Anything else i should change please let me know, i am a Retro guy, and all the accessory choices on these modern clones overwhelms me lol.

You guys should pic up the the May 2017 SWAT magazine.  Stukas87 article about his SOPMOD Block 1 M4 is a good one.  And then I guess he's following it up with a part II about block II's.

God, I finished mine about a month ago... and have reconfigured it twice, moved the PEQ-2 over to the MK18, and just watched a few scenes from Sicario and am entertaining the idea of snagging an Eotech 553 to swap in and out with the ACOG... I swear I'm never quite "done" when I say I am, although I am getting pretty close I hope... or at least my wallet does...

Great looking rifle, Chris.

Some progress on the block 1 Mk18mod0. Added LMT rear, RAS and M3x. Just need to send to adco for the 10.3 chop and thread and wait 11 months for my stamp to come back . Until then it will wear a shockwave but I do have a nicely used b5 sopmod to go on it when the time comes.

Thanks, same story for me too. I've reconfigured both MK18's twice this year, one of which was a Block I to a Block II conversion lol.

The one up close kind of looks like KAC QD the one in the background looks more Larue. Any idea on what light that is? I'm guessing M600?

ETA: Mount question answered. Also is this setup considered a basic issue M4 or a SF Block 1 (1.5?) build?

It's mostly a Block 1.5 I believe, the Aimpoint is the only thing throwing it off.  An M4A1 would have a Matech rear I believe.
