Did they stamp each serial number separately, by hand, with a hammer and punch?

I'd like to see a version of this similar to the LE6920 SOCOM I, with the KAC rail and Matech sight... But now that I think about it it is probably cheaper to just build one instead of buying it. At least with the increased price of the SOCOM you got the heavy barrel and the cool roll mark...

I bought a Bushmaster A3 right before Christmas so that I had an 'A4gery'. Dang it!!

No regrets. You did the smart thing and got a great rifle. I've had 8 BMs over the last 20 years and NONE of them had any issues. Great Rifles! |

Has this not been done before?
/ No disrespect intended to the thread. |

Since the 6920 is marked "M4 Carbine" and the 6920 is marked "M4A1" the AR15A4 should be marked "M16A4"!

Things are looking better, so I may yet be able to add this to the heard.

Is Colt paying Armalite to use "AR-15"? Colt aquired the rights to AR-15 when they bought the design. The Armalite of today is a different company though, so it doesn't matter. |

I will buy one and keep in at my cousins house in Florida, but hopefully it's not 2k. haha |

Please pardon my ignorance, but what makes this different from a regular 20" flat-top AR? Has Colt not made one before now?

Please pardon my ignorance, but what makes this different from a regular 20" flat-top AR? Has Colt not made one before now? Colt had never made a flat top with a standard government profile barrel 20" before, they only have the HBAR heavy contour barrel model MT6700 Match Target Competition HBAR and they have no flash suppressor and no bayonet lug. I had seen my local dealer's price list, also other online dealers and they're listed at $1,270 MRSP. Guys in ban states that ban the AR-15 by name are going to be pissed. |

I was all over that rifle when I was at the Colt booth on Wednesday. I had read about it a few months back but was very, very excited to see it in person. I cannot wait until this releases!

They were also neutered of bayonet lug. This is also marked AR-15 A-4. Reason alone to pick one up. |

Otherwise it's a perfect clone of an M16A4, MARINES!! All Marine A4s were bought as Modular Weapon Systems and came with M5 RASs, also I don't think any were Colt but instead FN |

I foresee a shortage of KAC M5 rails in the near future. Try not too pay much over $100 for just the rails alone. Last like new set I bought was $75.00, with no cover's or KAC VG |

I just bought a NIB colt 6720 and it is roll marked "AR15A4". It has a three digit serial number and has the restricted roll mark on the other side of the receiver. The factory Colt box did not have the colt label anywhere on it, just a tiny label with serial number on it.
|
|
Any word on the model number as well as the release time frame?

The only other difference is that the AR15A4 will come with M4 feedramps (don't think anyone is complaining about that) and an ambi selector. Otherwise it's a perfect clone of an M16A4, MARINES!! Good to see this finally released, though! ~Augee |

Nice "musket"
I am holding out hope, against all logic, for an AR15A2 clone. One can dream. |

The guys at Colt said that they already started shipping. Not sure who those first batches are going to. |

I am glad Colt is finally making these. I already own an all Colt factory built AR15A4. It is my favorite AR to shoot. Even though the value of mine will drop, I am glad that others will be finally be able to enjoy this fine rifle.

All FN.) We do have some Colt M4's though. |
