THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I like the model 3. I like the flat top, optic ready upper, and the ability to add rails to the forend. So what do you guys think about Stag Arms in general? I heard somewhere that they make some/most of their parts in house. What parts do they fabricate in house? Thanks guys. |

I have a model 3 that I use as a patrol rifle and its awesome. Zero failures with 1500 rds. Stag is the retail end of CMT which makes and supplies alot of parts to the military.

Stag is the sister company to CMT. They are good to go. |

This question gets answered a lot
Stag's GTG, and if they made the "plus package" standard, it would be even better. |

Flawless after 7 years. Stag is GTG. My Model 2 with Aimpoint and Surefire G2. Only other item I added was a Hogue grip.
As it looked right after I bought it. As you can see, I played around with the where I wanted a light and bought a cheap VFG, but otherwise it was fine right outta the box. I prefer running it without the VFG these days.
Could have bought one without this:
but I like the idea of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and the other libtards shitting themselves that this means nothing now. |

If you plan on buying the model 3: know that the complete rifle includes the quad rail but if you only buy the model 3 upper is has the basic fore-end with double heat shield inside.
If you plan on purchasing a second upper in 6.8 buy that as a complete upper and buy the model 3 as a complete rifle to include the quad rail. |

I did change the so-so staked semi-auto BCGs they came with (CM marked bolts in both) with their "plus package" BCGs last year. The originals languish now as "spares". Frankly nothing changed performance-wise, but I'm still sure it was a good idea. The question is why those BCGs still don't show up on their web page as something one can purchase without buying a complete upper? They don't list the 1/7 barrels among the barrels/barrel kits either. Anybody know why? |

Stags are generally regarded as good to go by alot of shooters here but like every manufacturer, they do put out lemons from time to time. However, Stag is supposed to have great customer service if need be. There's no telling why they don't offer ot standard but a good guess is becuase they make more money per rifle/upper. However they probably don't sell too many with the standard package as you can get a BCM or DD upper for what a Stag with the added cost of the plus package costs. What perplexes me is why they will not sell any uppers that are sub 16" to somebody wanting to build a pistol. Bit hey it's their company they can make their own decisions. |

A Stag Model 3 was my first AR. The only problem I had with it was with some bad reloads that weren't sized correctly and would not chamber, which is certainly not the rifle's fault.
It's been reliable and durable for me. I'd certainly buy another. I have over 10k rounds through it, along with some training and 3-gun thrown in for good measure. |

One thing about Stag, if you ever find them at a booth, expect them to gush like schoolgirls when you tell them how happy you are with their products. I had a lot of fun chatting with the guys when they were in Phx for the 09 NRA convention. They liked talking to customers and potential customers, and they are proud of what they roll out the door.

Does anyone know if Stag will ship directly to an FFL if I order off their website or do I have to go through a dealer?

Great company and I'm not just saying that because they are local to me. Our Department CT Dept of Correction, just picked them up as our perimeter/"executive protection" rifle.

About 4500 rounds and only failures were my reloads when I first started out. Things eats pretty much everything and looks good doing it.

Add me to the list of satisfied Stag Arms customers. I just received a basic 1L, exactly what I wanted, a no frills shooter. After closely checking it over I couldn't find any flaws unlike some of the other posts concerning their Colt finishes.

They will ship to a FFL. I have had mine for about 4 years and we have been through 2 Gunsite courses together. My Stag 2T has approximately 10,000 rounds through it with no problems at all.
