THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I'm ready to order an 18" SPR upper in 5.56mm. I already have the lower equipped with a 16" upper with an Aimpoint, but I'll be using the new upper with a scope and bi-pod and I would like a little better velocity and accuracy.

What are your opinions on complete uppers and who would you recommend. Currently leaning towards Noveske.

A tiny voice in the back of my head is also telling me to get a 6.5 Grendel upper. I currently re-load, but not 5.56 or 6.5, so either way I'll have to pick up new dies, powder etc.

I still have a few days to mull it over.

Noveske.

I've got a Noveske 18" SPR with the Vltor VIS upper. Shoots sub MOA easy. It is a touch heavy, but nothing intolerable. Scope is Nightforce 3.5-15X50 F1.

This is with handloaded 69 grain Sierra Match Kings at 100 yards. Sample of the accuracy Noveske is capable of.

+1 for Noveske.

Try a BCM uper with one of their SS410 barrels. Very accurate and cheaper than a Noveske if you are worried about price.
Yesterday, I was on the train sitting across from a smoking hot Thai chick. I kept saying to myself, please don't get an erection, please don't get an erection, but, she did.

+1..Mine is by far the most accurate AR I own..I'm by far a great shooter but, I consider myself a little better than average and mine will shoot 1-1.5" groups with factory ammo consistantly using front/rear bags..Can't imagine what it could do if I rolled my own..

Noveske.

Mine will put 10 shots into a nickel at 100yds off bipod using jBlack Hills M262. best investment I have ever made.

LaRue Stealth 18"/13.2" or Noveske! I'm not sure you can go wrong either way as both will be sub moa with good ammo...

So many good choices.

Noveske, Lothar Walther, Krieger all make great barrels. Myself I have a Lothar Walther barrel in my rifle and it is dead on accurate.
I was born an AR in my hands. Behind the gun I will make my final stand, and that is why they call me .... bad company I cannot deny.... Bad company till the day I die.

My 18" Noveske SPR barrel is way overkill for me. My best groups are 5 shots in 3/8" at 100 yards and 3 shots in 5/8" at 300 yards (I have only been able to do the 300 yd group once). These were shot with bipod and sand bag in the rear.
