It's been hit or miss for me on most of my rifles but, I'd say it's normal. I have wear on some and no wear on others.

Being as the number of times an AR is charged is a fraction of the number of rounds that are fired, I doubt an upper is going to wear out from the charging handle rubbing. I might charge the rifle only 2 or 3 times each range trip even if I shoot a couple hundred rounds. That's 15 cycles of the charging handle per 1000 rounds. Joe |
