Have, but didn't see a complete rifle,of course I think their website is awful.
I am leaning towards it being an upper and lower put together at the gun store. |

Check and see if the barrel is Bushmaster marked and if it has M4 feedramps..Bushmaster still makes rifles in all kinds of configurations so it may.

Never seen one in that configuration? What's the barrel profile? HBAR, GOVT? It's kind of cool.
I wouldn't give the bushmaster website much credit in accurately documenting their factory rifles. I know they make an A1, 14.5" carbine with a YHM phantom perm attached and that gun is nowhere on their website. |

I have the serial number, might call Bushmaster in the morning.
It is a BFI prefixed serial number,if that signifies anything. |

It looks like everything about it is A2 except the A1 upper receiver and teardrop FA. Ask if the front sight is round or square peg.

At first look I said "A2 not A1"...then noticed the upper is A1. So I dug up an old Bushmaster catalog...2006 I think. It shows "options for Bushmaster Upper Receiver/Barrel Assemblies" A1 style upper rec./barrel with A1 rear sight - Subtract $40 from price (Substitute A1 for A2 in part #) So you could order a upper exactly as shown above in the OP. |

Is that an A1 flash hider? I can't tell from the pics, but it looks like it.
The stock looks to be an A2 from the sling swivel and the square edges on the butt plate. This looks like the same configuration but searching for the part number comes up with nothing. http://www.lewhorton.com/bushmaster.html Here is another being sold: http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1615200/1 |

Yeah, I agree with the above but do they produce a "A1" style rifle now? I'm not a big retro guy but I have built an A1 to fill a gap in my safe http://dpmsinc.3dcartstores.com/A1-LITE-20_ep_109-1.html |

That does indeed look like it,appreciate you finding that.
It isn't the most desirable combination, but it is a pretty good trade deal. |

Yeah, their site kind of sucks unless your looking for an ACR. Then it like a car commercial. lol!
Many prefer the A1 sights over A2. Not sure if what you have is all Bushy but it looks like it's available that way. |

It's a Canadian C7 configuration if your talking retro. Notice the A1 upper has a brass deflector and it has an a2 lower. I personally love the look of these.

FWIW, they do list a receiver on their site in a C7 style. I don't see it listed in any of their complete uppers. That's not to say they won't build one...:
" Bushmaster Complete A1 Upper Receiver Assembly The early AR15/M16 Upper Receiver differed from the current A2 in that its simpler rear sight did not include an elevation adjustment. The Forward Assist Assembly often utilized the "tear-drop" type button although mechanically identical in function to the round type (either are available). Aircraft quality 7075T6 aluminum forgings are used for strength, and they include the integral cartridge case deflector. The finish is a mil. spec., non-reflective hard anodize with a baked on dry film lube coating inside to ensure long wear and smooth carrier operation. Price: $160.00 Part No: F1003670" |
