Hey Munition...I'm a commercial photographer for over 20 years and you've captured some nice shots. Keep it up and start thinking outside of the box.
Cheers~

I am crazy jealous of both your car, and your camera. Gotta love the low light capabilities of the FX Nikon bodies. I can shoot my D610 up to 6400 with no noise or grain, coupled with a fast lens, that means handheld action shots with no flash at night..

How do you like the Holy Trinity? I have no real desire for the 24-70, but I am curious about the 14-24 and the 70-200. Any input on how they mach up against the 17-35 F4 VR and the older 80-200 AF-D ED? I feel like the only real big pro is they are potentially more durable.

And faster AF.  For the 70-200 vs 80-200 AF-D, at least.  I have the older 80-200 AF-D (the push-pull, before the 2-ring), and focus is slooow. Great lens, though, apart from that.  And it could likely double as a defensive tool if needed. Weighs a ton.

I've been busy, first defending my thesis, and now searching for a job, so I haven't had much time to take pictures or post lately.  And I also no longer own an AR-15, due to the need to pay bills, so I'm unable to post a compliance AR photo, but I figure some photos is better than no photos.

New Glock upload. (old picture, just edited/uploaded it yesterday)

My Canik Stingray-C before I sent it away for refinishing a few months ago.

And the finished product. Tried some new lighting with red and blue flash gels. I got the color balance a bit wrong in my post processing, and it seems the blue has somewhat disappeared... I'm still tweaking the others from this set, hopefully they'll come out better.

Lot's of HDR... I typically don't use it but it brought out some cool features. I really need to learn more about photography. I recently got the Costco Nikon D5300 with the F-S DX NIKKOR 18-55MM F/3.5-5.6G VR II and AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300MM F/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lenses and it is way more capable than I am. For all you photo gurus, is this a pretty good starter setup or should I ditch it now and step up to a mid range body?

Also, I shot this in RAW and was wondering how hard it would be to edit the flash reflection on the upper in order to tone it down to the level seen on the upper part of the carry handle. Would this be something that is easily touched up with post-processing?

Not really, in my experience. It would probably be easier just to turn the rifle or slightly change the camera or light location to move it to a plastic section or off the gun.

I've been neglecting this thread lately...

Anyway, the holy trinity is great.  I had previously been using the Canon holy trinity (F2.8L 16-35, 24-70, 70-200) and I like the Nikon glass a lot more.  I'm old-school and prefer manual focus and so far my only complaint is that the Nikon lenses are very touch and I miss my focal point sometimes.  However, the autofocus is amazingly fast, particulary on the 70-200.  With the IS it's indespenable tool for shooting action sports.  I have no experience with the 17-35 F4 VR and the older 80-200 AF-D ED.
