Once again, my $.02, take with a grain of salt and all that... But here are my thoughts! :)

I'm going to re-embed your photos so they're in-line with my comments and easier for you to read, since they're on the bottom of last page.

Too much 'clarity' here: it looks like the gun is glowing in these two; it makes the photo look fake, like heavily-processed HDR's.

I like the new edit of this one. :)

I like this composition and your color-work again.  I do think it needs more light on the camera-side of the gun, though.  If you had just enough to be able to read the rollmarks on the slide, and see the serrations more clearly on the rear of the slide, I think this would really pop?  Not a ton of light, because I like how pronounced the lines that are there are, from the top-light, but being able to vaguely see the text but not quite make it out makes it almost look like dust.  Nitpick: a larger or more diffused top light source might help the photo, too, since the highlight on the slide stops about halfway down.  If that went the full-length of the gun it'd be more pleasing IMO.

Good work re-arranging this one. I slightly miss the bokeh and color processing you did on the other shots like this, but it's solid.

What was the focus of this intended to be? The grips? Maybe the knurling on the front strap, or the trigger?  I think you need to crop this one either tighter, to focus on a certain part or parts, or looser, to focus on the 'gun' as a whole.  Cutting just the very tip off takes away from the photo IMO.

Great composition on this one.  If I were being nit-picky, I'd ask for just a bit more light on the side of the slide again but as-is, this is my favorite of this set. I like it a lot.

Anyway, hope this helps, keep it up!  Also, you mentioned you're using your phone for processing?  I'm curious what app/program?

No new photos from me today. :(   Someone on another forum showed me another place that's shared one of my photos though: http://military-life.tumblr.com/post/91895946683
I'm pretty flattered that they've posted it, because there's some really great stuff that they share over there, but no link? Not even my name? Bummer.  Someone suggested I use a bigger watermark, but mine looks pretty hideous larger.  Anyone good at making watermarks willing to put one together for me?  Guys like Munition, Primer, RXM, a lot of you here; you see one of your photos and you instantly know who took it.  Even if you could read my watermark, if you google " A. Stauffer Photography" it doesn't really get you anywhere, haha.

Thank you. I am using VSCOCam and Snapseed for editing. I send the pics from my Canon 6D straight to my Samsung Galaxy s5 and edit them from there. Benefits of having built-in WiFi in your DSLR, right? Only bad thing is that they export as 1920x1080 instead of 5 thousand something res. Not a big deal, but it's easier.

As for some of the glowing with the first two, I did that to kind of put the attention on the weapon, instead of any ugly backgrounds. I am literally taking the pics in my living room, using the crap ceiling lights as my lighting. I'm actually impressed with myself on how I got a few nice photos out a bad environment for photos. Thank you for you two cents, I really appreciate it. You can critique my photos any time you like, it really helps me. Thanks!

These days you can't get by without putting your watermark on your image.  Lots of folks don't understand copyright laws and the other half doesn't give a damn.  My only peeve is when a company/website uses my images to sell their shitty non-licensed product and uses my image for their stock photo.

Tip for new photographers:  Develop your unique style whether it is lighting, composition, etc.  Master it, then learn a new style to stay relevant.

Yeah one of mine was on that tumblr page.

For the most part I don't care as long as it doesn't end up on commercial use and they are making money of it. Small watermarks are good, you can even just fade the transparency and hide them like a lot of folks do.

Sorry to post this again, but on the subject of lighting. This one was shot in the back of my car at night with 3 of my handheld flashlights I use at work wrapped with charmin quilted ultra taped over the lenses. I was pleasantly surprised how well it turned out...

Flash to the right and to the right/above.  One with a softbox one with an umbrella.  I need more space and bigger lights. Or more lights.  Or just to plan better. I don't really know, but it's frustrating me.
