Troy MRF series uses GI barrel nut. And it's heavy as all get out. I have the 12" and it weighs 21 ounces.
Solid as rock though. |

I have 2 of the the original TRX extreme (with the proprietary barrel nut) 13" rail on a 16" middy carbine and I have no trouble.
I have read many threads about people having trouble with the clamping mechanism stripping out or whatever problems, but mine have been fine.
I have often wondered if I should be trying to make them fail so Troy would issue me a replacement. I can't bring myself to do it. |
