THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT It looks like they go for just as much without the upper as with. I would really like to keep the upper and sell the lower so I can buy a A4 style upper/lower and still be able to play with the A2. Is $1,000 a realistic number for the lower minus the buttstock?

Do what you will, but when I sold mine I sold it for 350. I figured I could replace it for around 200 and the extra was for my time and effort spent in having to go buy the new one and replace it and all that.
Preban upper SOLD You might get your money, but as you already said, you don't NEED it, I'd sell it for a bit less and be nice to some other gun guys out there. |

I sold mine for $700 each
that is what I paid for them during the ban, so I just made my money back $700 is a fair price IMO Free |

you should go to the New England Hometown forum and offer it as gift to one of your brothers behind enemy lines.
Im sure you would receive fortune and karma and perhaps a fine gift in return. http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_8/26_New_England.html *edit ive paid $600, $650, and $400 for prebans. all high quality, but not like new |

$1000 for a lower is insane! I think its kind of greedy to ask that much so people like me could have a flash hider and collapsible stock…. But is some one is willing to pay that, they are dumb…. might as well take their money. I have already paid some pretty stupid MA premium prices on hand guns, but to me that is crazy….

What would be considered reasonable?I am getting a PWA Commando tomorrow, had thought the same thing,to part it out and sell the lower.Don't want to be greedy however, even to a Northerner...
I was thinking $700,for complete lower with collapsible stock... |

I think a fair price would be what I could get a real nice stripped billet lower for so $300-$400. Then add in the LPK and stock/ buffer/ tube…..So maybe $200 (depending on parts) then add a couple hundred ban state premium and your right around $700 |

That was my thinking,$700 for the complete lower, although I have an aversion to parting out a perfectly good rifle...
Will see what it looks like tomorrow. |

Two or three months ago I sold two preban lowers on Gunbroker.com. A Colt Sporter II with collapsible stock but no internals went for $675. An Essential Arms J-15 stripped lower went for $555. After fees, I netted about $1100 for the both of them. At the time PWA stripped lowers seemed to be bringing a little bit more, in the $700 range. FWIW

I've been pricing them lately because I'm considering one so I can have it in Taxachusetts. As others here have said, around $700 for a complete lower is what the market seems to be bearing.

Might be a long shot, but I would buy you a stripped lower and a LPK of your choosing in exchange for that lower w/o stock. Living in a ban state is real tough, and as much as I would love to have a pre-ban rifle, i could never pay $700-1000 for a lower that cost much much less than that to anybody else.
just a thought |

What exactly can you not have in the less free states?
Can you have a collapsible stock without having a pre-ban? |

Make sure this stays on the informative side and doesn't turn into a selling thread.
