My friend just bought a composit ar 15 from bushmaster. Other then weight what is the advantages? And what are the disadvantages?

There have been several threads recently on those.

In my opinion they are junk and should all be recalled.

I looked at one at sportsmans when they were on sale. They hardly even stake their gas key.... no thanks.

I wouldn't get one if I were you. Just to much negative feed back with them.

The M&P sport would be a 10x better option imo and they cost about the same.

Yeah, no sense making him feel bad about spending the $600 or so for it.

I guess if you think he has a way to sell it, then let him know it'd be a good decision.

Hmmm - I think I'll stick with forged aluminum - although googling up "Bushmaster C15 durability" brings up mostly positive comments.
