Not an AR but one of my 2011's. The color is generally darker, all just depends on the camera

I know DD has done these rails for military....is there a cerekote finish that matches this "brown" color?

The sunlight makes it look more brown. The LED from the iPhone camera flash makes it look gold.

There is very very slight gold flake to the finish, nothing tacky...just intresting. Light really has a neat effect on it.

This picture is a better reflection of what the finish actually looks like.

Are you guys doing it yourself or do you have any recommendations for a good shop or site sponsor that do it?

I had Larson Tactical do mine. Price and turn-around was very reasonable. Quality is amazing as well.

While this technically isn't burnt bronze, I feel it's close enough and it's all original...LWRC's Multi Regional Earth..

Right when I first got it..

Does sandblasting to prepare for Cerakote remove the anodizing?

Yes.  You don't have to blast anodized parts, the Cerakote will adhere well to anodizing.  Just makemsure it is thoroughly degreased and that there isn't any type of Teflon or other coating on the anodizing.

Ok, my upper and rail would be GTG for Cerakote but my lower has a teflon coating over the anodizing.  Is there a way to remove the teflon without removing the anodizing?  I'm guessing not...

We build fuel storage tanks/oil for a living and we powder coat them as well. Now i know your thinking WTH does this have to do with this thread. lol Well here goes ive thought about CERAKOTE because i have the facility to do this. But i have lots of questions about it like durability and feel. Any who I love the BURNT BRONZE its uber SEXY!!  So i think im going to start doing this cause where i live no one does this. Nice stick.
