There are actually several different forms of IUIDs used on the M4 and M4A1 Carbines. The first line: (17V) 13629 is the CAGE code for Colt Defense. (1P) 12972700 is the part number for the M4A1 Carbine (RO921HB). The part number for the M4 Carbine (RO920) is 9390000. The "(S)" block is for the serial number. ~Augee I made the mistake of checking that on my IPHONE ![]() |

while those pics are cool, they aren't of M4s.
Here's my latest build, its based off my current issue M4:
Its getting an Aimpoint CompM4. I was only issued two heat shield panels with my issue rifle, and I kept them on just so I didn't have to clean underneath them as much, so my "clone" only has the two rail panels on the side (even though it would save a couple ounces off the front if I took them off). Only other difference besides the 1.5" of extra barrel and the lack of a burst system is an AN/PEQ-15 which is nearly impossible to find legally and about $2500 when they do pop up. this was my rifle in Iraq 2008/2009
it had a PEQ15 but when I extended my tour my unit made me give it back and my new unit didn't give me a new one. M4 w/ SOPMOD stock, TA31F ACOG, Surefire M951
this was at my unit's family day, I took the handle off an M82 Barrett and put it on an M4 |

I was talking to 458Winmag. The thread is titled "Standard issued M4 picture/info thread" If he has a problem with the thread or the pictures, then he shouldn't post. I do not. The pictures in this thread are exactly what they're supposed to be Originally Posted By 458winmag:

A refresher on the M4. It's not something everyone can own or build
