I'm looking for ideas for building up my new PSA mid-length ultra
lightweight upper and this thread has provided some great inspiration.
At this point I'm looking at a retro inspired build with either a C7 or A2 upper. For you guys that have used fixed
carry handle uppers, any concerns with the F sight base? I'd think
little to no impact, but want to confirm.
Build list so far...
PSA 16" Midlength 5.56 CHF Ultra Lightweight Upper (in hand)

DPMS C7 or Colt A2 upper (in hand)

LRB Arms stripped lower (in hand)

Palmetto State Armory Classic LPK w/Geissele G2S FCG (in hand)

RRA olive drab A2 furniture set (something different than the rest of my black rifles; on order)

Just finished this weekend.

Spikes Upper/Lower
SAA NiB BCG
CMMG LPK
Ballistic Advantage 16" Mid-Length
Magpul MOE Furniture
Magpul MBUS Pro LR BUIS

Still gotta put a C-More ATRW on it, and a ALG ACT in it. Sorry, crappy cellphone pic follows.

My contribution to keep this thread out of the archives.
Inspired by so many on this site. Too many to list.

First time posting a pic.  Hope it's right?

Bringing this thread out of the ashes because of your rifle. Im cloning it . Still deciding on the DDI rear sight or doing a carry handle chop. So Far I have a del ton middy lightweight upper with chrome line, Geiselle SSA trigger and lower and LPK coming thanks to the primary arms deal as well as a buffer and tube for my Colt A2 stock that was in the attic for over 10 years. What light mount is that? I have a sure fire 6p I need to mount to the moe handguards .Thanks in advance and I promise pics when or as I build

Delt Ton upper Arrived in quick order.  I think 3 days from build start even with a delay on a back ordered part! Just finished putting the lower together and figuring out the single point sling adapter for the rear stock.  Trigger is awesome. Will post the rest of the pics tomorrow and a price sheet. Holosun is still on the way

No problem, Have already changed my mind three times . Currently running my new TLR on it.  Your barrel profile or length looks a little different from mine. It is 16 inch or 14.7?

It's a PSA premium 14.7" "lightweight" upper.  The barrel is kinda between Govt profile and skinny.

It is.  It started at a RR CAR A4 with the R4 barrel.

But it works. It's a great shooter.

I think what he was referring to is that it is NOT a mid length.

Then perhaps I'm mistaken. I thought an AR with 16 in barrel is considered a Mid

No. Mid length refers to the gas block location. 16" can be carbine, midlength, or rifle length.

Well shit. So looking at the RR catalogue (PS I bought this rifle from my father) I'm guessing it's a carbine length.  Seems way too short for rifle.

@lafmedic1

Hand guard use to be a 13" alg EMR v2. Its now 9 5/8" with an extension for keeping the flashight mount forward.

The stock is a PSA PA10 receiver extension (longer than a normal carbine RE) i built a nylon spacer so the action travel remained the same and the buttstock is a $25 BAD LWBS knock off. I removed the excess material off the bottom of the tube because i am running the clamp on stock instead of a multi position and this is a lightweight rifle. (4.5lbs)

I had the tube cerakoted to cover up the raw aluminum and then used some talon grip material to keep the tube from being hot/cold against my cheek.

Awesome.  I have been toying with using an A2 tube but I think your idea is better. For the front end I want to just run a C channel for the top over the gas tube and just a rail section on the bottom to attach a forward grip.  Pretty much a naked barrel
