The other brands are close and look the part but are not. Most of the above can be had from $900-$1200 if you shop around. The closer you get to the TDP and follow the 'Specs the more it will cost. Period. However, you can get a reasonable facsimile of a military M4 from many of the vendors with the deviations in QC, materials, and finshes not observable to the average AR enthusiast, let alone the average person. Some 'good' M4 carbines that are more reasonably priced include Spikes Stag Palmetto S&W I'd also point out in the past I've had very good luck with Bushmaster (indeed during the AWB they were the only place you could get a decent chrome lined M4 type barrel). Not sure these days with the factory being moved and their consolodation with the rest of Cerbus. |

The Colt 6920 is as close as you can get to mil-spec in my book ,except for not being select fire,and not having a 14.5" barrel,what else is it missing ?
Same go's for DD ,BCM,Spikes,and a few others.They are HPT-MPI BOLT AND BARREL CHROME LINED 1/7 BARREL,FORGED ALUMINUM UPPER AND LOWERS. The only way to get Mil-Spec is join the Mil. For what your looking for OP the rifles listed and a few more meet the needs of us non Military guys for defense ,range shooting ,hunting and so on just fine. And for 99% of the guys and girls on this site that shoot AR's. |
