Midwest Industries

I think it's the best quick and easy way to mount a light on the market right now.

Here is my crappy pic... Original Colt 604 upper on a New Frontier lower. I have a stripped Core-15 lower waiting to be built for it.

I started out wanting to build a BHD style rifle, I started doing my own thing from there and I ended up with this.  I'm hoping to get out to the range in the next week or two to put some rounds through it.

Thanks! I used Aervoe Sand as the base, then used Aervoe Earth Brown and Dark Green, I finished it off with a few passes of Aervoe OD.  The paint scheme was inspired a little by Blood Diamond, and a little from other pics I found around the web.

Latest update, just didn't like the fixed stock.
Honestly, this is quickly becoming my favorite rifle.
Other than better sling mounts & MAYBE a flashlight, I don't think this one will be changing much.

Alright guys. I've got a nice beat to hell A1 upper with a SOCOM profile M4 barrel on it right now and I'm starting to get some ideas...

Chop the barrel down to 12.50" and slap a MK18 FSP RIS II on there. I'd like to run an optic on the setup but not sure what/where. I've tried a T1 in a KZ mount on the carry handle but it still sits too high. I'd consider running it on the rail. What do you think? Blasphemous?

Concept:

After trying several times I've just dedicated dots to flattops and irons to A1's

Probably the way I will ultimately see it too...I get these concepts on paper and then they just don't come together like I envisioned.

Well, beyond all that you have the makings of a perfect BHD carbine.  Or a clone of that guy that was on Schwarzkopf's security detail.  I think an A1/M4 barreled carbine would be sweet.

I'm not really against any of those pics you posted either.  I think they would all work.  It might be worth a try.  But I've never had one set up like either, other than I've had scopes on my carry handles and don't really mind it there.  A t1 on top the handle would be really good, I think.

Keeping it alive,

This is my interpretation on a modern A1. Sorry for the crappy pics, the sun was out so they look washed out.

Build specs;
Rock River Lower with a Damage Industries trigger guard, carbine receiver extension and H buffer. I made the receiver endplate/sling mount.

C7 Upper with A2 aperture and a AIM surplus nickel boron bolt carrier group.

CMMG 1/7 Nitrided 16” Mid-length barrel with an AAC blackout suppressor and a side swivel mount.

Magpul MOE hand guard, MOE + grip and fixed carbine stock in OD.

I had the upper, lower, delta ring, trigger guard, mag catch button, charging Handle, receiver endplate and castle nut Cera-Coated in Patriot Brown by Amelon Firearms.

I fired 200 rounds of M193 and M855 through it today after putting a 50 yard zero on it. Functioned flawlessly and was accurate.
