Does S&W 16' barrels have markings on them? The reason I ask is because I have but a WTB add on the EE for a 16inch barrel with a M4 receiver extension. I'm planning on a upper build that will share time on my Reece lower. A member here states he has a 16 inch M&P barrel but claims there are no markings on it but he says he believes it's a M&P 1/9 barrel. Is there anyway to verify it? I assume it says 1/9 on it. Can you generally tell if its M&P by the font they use or any other definitive markings? Thanks for the help.

My 16" S&W says 5.56 NATO 1/9 right behind the flash hider on top.

FWIW the new 14.5" ones read "CMV 5.56 NATO 1/7"
"Of the Troops, For the Troops"

My M&P 15 Sport says 5.56 NATO 1/8, on top of the barrel between the front sight and flash hider.
A 45 may not expand but it will never be smaller than .45!!
