I see it says to replace all the bolt related parts at 10k, 15, 30..........

Why would you replace the bolt 5k rounds after the 10k replacement, then jump to a 15k replacement interval?

It's just the way the data is setup. They could have left it blank after 10k, but instead put an R, cause if you notice other things say I and R in  the 15k+ categories.

I'm glad you're a member of this forum. Just wanted to put that out there. I found a rail mounting bayonet BTW. it looks like shit and of course isnt mil-spec or anything like that, but found one nonetheless.

On a M16 series here's my steps

Clear gun (If I'm visiting a team house, they are usually all loaded in the ready room)
Insert Bore Erosion gauge into chamber (picture borrowed from here)

Insert No Go gauge into chamber and close bolt

Check Bolt Carrier Gas Key for tightness and staking
Check Bolt for cracks/broken lugs, check gas rings

Check Firing Pin Protrusion if noted misfiring

Check FH for tightness.  Replace KAC QDSS FH (NT4) with SF FMBSC FH (FH556RC) if requested
Check KAC RIS or DD RIS II for tightness, missing screws
Over all inspection of upper receiver
Inspection of lower receiver
Check trigger pull weight (if I brought my weights with me)
Install Geissele SSF trigger if requested
Inspection of castle nut on receiver extension, stake if needed
Correct any other noted deficiencies.
Reassemble and preform functions check
Load gun back in configuration I found it.
Note all deficiencies on 2404
Move on to next

If you have some time CD...there was some discussion earlier about .mil markings on the RISII.  I can't find the exact one but this> http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_159/1390554_.html has a pic and I see your replacement parts have the part number.  Mine does not and came in a white box like the link.  Do you have any input on the oddity.

Thank you.

And thanks to your family too.!

Mine is marked 2011, and has it.
I wonder if we can find a method to the madness.i'm also wondering if this thread is going to spontaniously combust at pg. 1,000

The DD RIS II's that I have don't have a box.  They are in foil packs as the picture shown.  (course they could have been removed from boxes in Afghanistan)  Both my stocks here and in Astan where that way.  I'll check in the morning as its almost 11pm right now.

As of 041900MAR15 - five of nine posts on Page 1,000 are "placeholders."

Not the cleanest runs I've ever done, but was trying to get some good NV video:

M4A1 SOPMOD Block II clone doing what it should do.

"Own the night."

ATPIAL and AB Night Vision MOD-3.

Not visible are targets at 25m, 50m, and 100m.

Also not visible - and the reason that it's really not exactly the "best" run, is that my buddy and I were really more experimenting with how to take NV videos using nothing but monoculars and an iPhone -

Both these and the other video I posted were literally taken by moving the monocular as far forward on the helmet mount as possible (just was not stable enough trying to do it hand-held) - and putting an iPhone up to the ocular lens.  Needless to say, the screen was too close to see whether or not you were getting a good picture, but you could tell whether or not you had a green circle and if there was someone in the FOV.

The iPhone's autofocus took care of the rest - however, it has had me considering investing in an iPhone adapter, especially since I have a spare 4S that Verizon was going to give me pennies for when I upgraded.

Unfortunately, that night my phone died just about as soon as we figured out how to get passable videos, so the only ones I have are the three passable "test runs," and nothing terribly exciting, but it's still pretty cool to be able to get the NV video.

However, now that I've figured out how to get passable videos through NV, I should be able to post some more and some better ones in the future, but it seemed reasonable to put these up for Page 1,000!

Also just couldn't resist snapping a photograph with everything "on" before heading out to the range.

Cropping of the background is to obscure the disaster area that is currently my living room.

Rifle is loosely "based" on an "in the wild" photograph that was posted a while back, in and that pretty much all I did was swap out my painted SOPMOD for a black one, "just because," and the Redi-Mag.  Actually comes in handy hog hunting to carry an extra magazine, and not having to wear all the field gear besides the helmet.

She's was set up for LMS Defense practical carbine at "The Ranch" 3/8/15.

Can't post these pics without thanking Jason Paletta and Josh Jackson, from LMS Defense, for an amazing 72hrs!

She rocked a 375yd High Angle 1st hit and quick follow up flopper shot with my 55grn ball plinker reloads. All following a serious gasser ruck to the shooting position.

Here's the view from the instructors perspective.

We got to work with some Thermal Devices from IRDefense after the night training cycle too.  Crazy clarity.

Went the eotech/magnifier route and after using a friends TA01ECOS I regret not going that route originally. The Eotech/G33 will likely move over to the CQBR once it is finished and I will begin the search for a TA01ECOS for the block II.

I really like the ECOS, but just can't get comfortable with the eye relief (or lack thereof). I'll be selling that ECOS if either of you are interested. Was just purchased brand new from DSG last month.
