I know this is the BLOCK II thread but I want specific feedback from you guys who owns both BLOCK II M4-A1 builds and similar rifles using the SMR MK4 rails sand rails.

Which of the two do you prefer and why? Anyone have any pictures of the two next to each other?

Here's my current clone. I know the lower isn't correct but that will change in 12 hours since I break my colt lower out of jail today.  Currently have a colt upper with 14.5 socom barrel, SF3P pinned, KAC 600m rear, DD RIS II FSP rail, LMT SOPMOD stock, CQD front and rear sling mounts and a BF VCAS sling. I ordered a SSA trigger, Colt H and H2 buffer and a Eotech EXPS3-0 in tan. I'll be ordering a SF M600u soon.

AR15USA doesn't have a job.... he just has a shit ton of maxed out credit cards

Just to tone down all this bro love (I think this is the second time);   for the $$ you have spent on FA lowers you could have easily started a Class 7 FFL, hired someone to operate it, made FA lowers for about $350-1k each depending on what type of lower you want (I know I know... can't really get the Property of US Gov rollmark haha), checked them out to yourself for research and development purposes, and had a side business to bring in some extra spending money.

I haven't really changed anything on the block II in a long time but Its time to put a bipod on it. Looking at a Harris or an Atlas my only question is the atlas really worth the added price? Is it lighter at all?

I've ever only owned the Atlas, but my friend, a Harris owner, has stated the Atlas was noticeably lighter.

Yes. That Garmin helped me land nav through the jungles and mountains of Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, and Korea on this deployment

Still a work in progress and a ways to go. Got the muzzle device pinned and just got the 99051 yesterday. When I rotate these they shrink to microscopic. I'll retry again in a little bit. Sideways pics for now lol

That was the block I ACOG I believe, the block II is the TA31F. But I'd still say that's better for cloning purposes than a T1. Although the T1's the shit, it's not exactly "clone correct."

The TA31F, AFAIK, was not part of the SOPMOD program.  The TA01NSN was in the original iteration of the SOPMOD kit, which was eventually replaced by the SU-237, which fell by the wayside in favor of the SU-230.

Strictly SOPMOD speaking the NSN is more "correct" however the TA31F (or other variants, the Army M150 or USMC RCO-M4) are still in use by regular units so it's not uncommon for some of them to find their way onto SOF weapons.

For the purposes of this thread, I'd say either are fine as they've both been seen "in the wild."

I just dropped the Burris XTR II 1.5-8 on my Block II. The Elcan wasn't cutting it for my purposes and I didn't want to drop the dough on a Mk8 so this is my solution. Leftover funds going to NV

Here's my progression so far.

Put the colt upper together today and it's sitting on my SBR lower until I decide to perm a SF3P or not.

Just messing around w/ x300 and TD stubby. I ditched them both though.
