Here's what I've got getting all spiffed up for Labor Day with some woodland brown. Pardon the 'tater pics. I have a CAR stock I might change the B5 out with. Maybe swap the BE Meyers for a SF 3 prong or 4 prong if I could ever find one.

Thinking about building a MK12 but if there is not a whole lot of difference between that and a Block II I figure I will just save some mula and get some nice glass and a bipod with QD mounts.
That's a joke, right?

lol, I hope so.

But in all seriousness a Block II is nowhere near a Mk12 in terms of capability or intended use.

I was pretty laisez faire about shooting plates up close with 5.56 until I had either a ricochet or piece of plate come back and go through my arm.

Thankfully it wasn't too deep, but it went right through me like a hot knife through butter. If it had hit me in the throat or something it would've been a really bad dealio. I was about 25 yards away and it was an AR500 target, hung properly at angle and all that.

Well boys I just had a 6920 fall into my lap on a deal I couldn't pass up! I have a NOS colt 14.5" SOCOM barrel and a SF 556k sitting around from when I was originally going to build my own. looks like a Block ll FSP is in my future!

Or what do you think about if I sent in the 6920 barrel to ADCO to have it cut down just enough for the NT4 flash hider? I have a 553 on my DD M4a1, what optic should the FSP have?

I get pitting like that at 400 on 1/4" mild steel.  Since it was a nicely-cut target, I simply assumed that it was 500 Brinell stuff.

Have a blast, or thirty.

They've been discontinued for at least a year now. Black is also issued these days, but not typically seen. I painted my black one to match my Elcan.

G&R has them for $25 less FWIW. That's a lot of money for a roll mark. I picked up a LMT complete lower the other day for $320.

Edit: guess they sold out. They had them the other day when I was browsing for Colt parts.

It's too old for me to know what model it is or if it's block II kosher or not, the cross hairs turn red when the lights are out.  Can someone help a brother out!

Looks like a standard TA01.

A TA31, TA01 ECOS, or TA01NSN would probably be "more correct", but I don't think anyone would raise too much hell over you running it on a BlockII.

A typical SOPMOD 1 ACOG will be a TA01NSN with the integrated back-up iron sights.

But, you know... it's not my gun and I don't know if you're a purist who's going for aethetics or practical application.  If you're going for looks, it needs the rear mount ears.

It would help if you could show (or at least describe) the reticle pattern it uses.

Me? if it has a "raised NSN" on the side, I'd say go for it.
