CAV-15 lower with BCM pencil-barrel 16" mid-length upper. Weighs in on my bathroom scale at 6lbs unloaded, but it only weighs to the nearest half pound, so it could be anywhere from 5.75 to 6.24.

5 pounds 13 ounces with no mag. It would have been a little lighter if I hadn't used a FS BCG and H buffer, but it's light enough for me.

That's really nice HD.

It's a pistol light sold by S&W. It's not the most durable-feeling thing I've tried, but it was cheap, light, and its plenty bright. For the use that rifle gets, it seems like a decent compromise.

Sweet rifle, but I can't see anything light weight about it, besides the short barrel. DannerTrax

Yeah, that's not lightweight...

I bet it weighs more than a 20" M16a1.

Upper:
Spike's upper receiver and BCG
DD 10.0 Lite Rail
DD 14.5" CHF LW barrel with factory pinned YHM flash hider
Troy front and rear BUIS
Trijicon ACOG TA33-R8 with LaRue mount
Streamlight TLR-3
Magpul FVG and XTM rail covers

Lower:
Spike's lower and LPK
Magpul CTR, MOE grip and trigger guard
KNS Gen 2 Mod 2 pins

Weight:
7lbs 5oz without mag
8lbs 5oz with Magpul Pmag loaded with 30 rounds of Hornady 60 gr. LE TAP

This is the rifle that started this thread and set the guidelines for it which weighs 7lbs 5oz...My rifle I posted is lighter than 7lbs making it more lightweight than the OP's rifle....What AR-15 authority decides what the cutoff wieight is to be classified as "lightweight" please point me to you'r reference material then criticize my post.

That rifle weighs less than 7lbs? My 11.5/Larue 10" rail combo weighs 7lbs 4oz. It has a A2 FH, an Aimpoint Micro/LT660 and a CTR. I do have an M3x on it which adds about 5oz back, but it seems impossible that your rifle would weigh less with a UBR, KX3, and a 512!

Because as far as I can see you made no effort in your selection of parts to put anything on there that is light, the OP at least had a light weight barrel. DannerTrax

At the end of the day its still lighter and therefore is qualified to be in this thread. If you want a more specific lightweight elitist thread with more specific guidlines where only three people will post in it feel free to start your own thread high speed.

I'll say it again ....What authority for this thread decides what the cutoff wieight is to be classified as "lightweight"??? Please point me to you'r reference material then criticize my post.

Why ruin a perfectly good thread with a catfight? The rifle doesn't look like a "lightweight" build to me but I wouldn't have taken the time to call you out on it. No, I don't have any "reference material" for lightweight criteria but, thankfully, this is a discussion board and not a scholarly journal.

Pic thread-

I don't know what this thread is all about, I didn't make it. Your rifle is an SBR so naturally it is going to be lighter weight but, to me, it just doesn't seem like you meant it as a lightweight build especially with a UBR on there. Again, I would have just glossed over your picture and not said anything but I don't want to see this thread locked.

Lightweight means lightweight. Stock config weight or sub 7pds is what means lightweight to me IMO.
