Upper and lower are colt. Rest of it is the usual stuff.  I like the atlas bipod better than the Harris so it’s on there for my usual shooting duties.  SSA trigger though.

Since a friend had to get rid of his Mod 0 Upper...

... I obviously took it
So, here's the Family pic:

Still obv. missing the A1 Lower, Mod 0 needs an ARMS #40 Rear Sight, and i'm absolutely not sure about the optics...
i kinda want to slap the Leupold on the Mod 0 (with med rings then obv.), but what do i take for the Mod 1? i'd like something more modern, more magnification..

I would recommend the Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 for the Mod 1.  I just put one on mine but haven’t got a chance to sight it in yet.

Yea, that looks great.  Even without the can the Mk12 is one of those things where even when people at the range have no idea what it is, they'll ask about it because they can tell it's something special.

Anyone interested in a trade?

I switched from an A1 stock to the SOPMOD, so now I can't use the Eagle Industries sling and KAC MWS Rail Sling Mount with Stud.

I need to get front and rear CQD attachments.

I hate when I call the BATF and one investigator will say it is in research since...and is expected to be completed by...  Then you call for another can and you get some $%#! that only says it pending but not that it is even being researched or what.  Just that as soon as they receive it, it is now pending.  I am averaging about 5 1/2 months on my transfers.

I would say something about hoping for the Hearing Act or Share Act, but them some liberal will pay some loser to go shoot people so it doesn't get passed. Not a sermon...Just a thought.

Lol, the receiver set only accepts Armalite pattern barrel nut threads so I had to go with the Armalite Super SASS hand guard for the cheese-grater effect.  Otherwise, I would have tried to source a clone correct KAC hand guard.  Sadly, that rifle will never be a spec-clone.

Though since I took that photo, I did manage to get an M110 stock for it:

Ah well we can't all afford an SR. I was actually building an SR knockoff clone with a DPMS lower and CMMG upper but abandoned the project. Nice collection of shooters either way.

AEM5 received. Man it felt so damn good to screw that thing on for the first time. Gunna get rattle can treatment this weekend when I have time. Just have to swap an LMT stock on this bad boy and a teardrop FA which just came in then honestly I can mark this build COMPLETE after a little over a year. Will post some better picture's later.

Is there a problem with having this much of the muzzle inside of the brake?  I have a WOA SPR barrel and if I used the supplied crush washer or extra shims I was getting around 12-13 complete rotations before the van was seated against the collar.  I am now getting 8-9 rotations which I thought was more appropriate.

I think you’re fine. My picture angle isn’t the same as yours but it looks like the muzzle is sticking out about the same. Adco built my upper for me and I want to say I get 9 turns. You could post in their forum and see what they say or if Ron will address your post in the silencer section.

Step 1, start mk12 build
Step 2, order 1st AEM5 and my 3rd RC2.
Step 3, submit AEM paperwork with RC2 paperwork at same time
Step 4, both checks cached December 8th, 2017
Step 5, Wait 6 + months
Step 6, Dealer calls and states RC2 stamp arrives, but no AEM 5.

Of course it didn't...

You're wise to do it in that order though.

Most people start with the rifle first, but by the time it's built, it takes that much longer to get funds together for a can, and then they begin the epic wait.

The Mk 12 is still fun to shoot without a can, but the brake can be rough, especially if shooting under an overhang, and your neighbors on either side won't appreciate it.

Shooting it suppressed though makes it a 10/10. That can just sounds so great.

Agreed!

I ordered my AEM5 + High Caliber Sales upper at the same time. Now I need the ARMS 22H rings, NF C538, + Nodak to fulfill my order to complete the build.

In other news, old DPMS ambi safeties fit like shit. Thing sticks waaayyy out, worse on the weak side. I don't know if M16 lowers had different dimensions or offsets for the selector detent but this is ridiculous.

Oh well, +10 to clone points.

I've used the crush washer (and no shims) on all my Mk12 builds... too few rotations is more of a problem than too many.  I'd add that crush washer back in, if I were you.

It really should be roughly flush with the opening in the brake chamber.

For reference, here is an original SPR with the longer threaded brake and using shims vs crush washer.

And a Holland. Again, the muzzle should be shooting to be roughly flush with the chamber of the brake.

Can be seen the same way on this Mod 1:

Legit Mod 1 again on top:
