Massive. Can't wait to get it properly assembled and out to the range. Hand snugged test fit went very well.

The Ballistic Advantage 16" MOD H barrel continues to amaze me...or maybe I'm just getting better...or maybe it's finally loosened up. It has about 300 rounds through it now.

Here's a 5 shot group @ 100yds with a Bushnell 1-6.5 SMRS and CBC 77grn

.7135 - .224 = .4895 MOA

i did see a few with black HG and upper though the thread... The particular ones i am using for ref with the RECCE rail have a fde upper under that worn off paint, so i kinda wanted to do it like that. Obv a "unit requested FDE" vs "get these out by friday" are two different things. Been there dont that.

Technology and parts have come a long way from then until now. I have built nicer rifles with better performance for less than it would have cost to clone any of my service rifles. I am not into cloning. They give me rifles and I use them, but I have my own preferences. I had SASR's to my disposal, but I don't plan on cloning any of those either.

PRi makes them in both aluminum and steel.  I assume asking the pros and cons of the two.

My Mod 0 is wearing an aluminum nut and I have no concern with it.

I was wondering what the Mod 0 actually had, to be as detailed as possible in the specs. I have a Gen III riflelength from 2002 with a steel nut and one from 2007 with an aluminum nut--not sure which one to use!

Alluminum here also with no issues. I actually have never heard of anyone having an issue with a Mod0 barrel nut? I would say use the earliest parts you have on the Mod0 and the later ones on a Mod Holland

The aluminum nut should be strong enough for most realistic stresses put on it, and it's lighter. Not sure if it would survive the perfect storm of a fall out of a deuce and a half or not though.

If I had the option I'd run the steel nut though for the higher tensile strength. The aluminum nut should hold up jusy fine too though, unless some crazy shit goes down.

ETA now that I think about it even more, I think the receiver threads/receiver would give before even the aluminum nut did.

-Going through my hodhge podge....My rec extension isnt 4pos colt.... Its a dpms 6pos. It's coming off now. My SD-E is out and an SSA-E is coming this week.

-I checked with NDS and they said they will be doing a run of A1 (80% specifically) before the end of the year. When I hear from them I will post up in case anyone wants to go from A2 to A1 lower (like moi) to be legit.

-still looking for ARMS 22m. That's pretty much the last piece other than my incorrect place holder optic.

I am able to hold out for NLS. I am anxious, but I can wait for correct. correct > shooting it right now . thx for the offer tho! one other member is deciding on 22m vs his LT-104 so I have a line on 1 set in the future if he goes Larue.

I hated the 2.5-10x24. Quality glass should be priority. Just because it's spec, doesn't make it the best. If anything, get the x32. Not saying the x24 is bad, but the x32 seemed more brighter and clearer.

Probably a reason NF doesn't put them out.

If you aren't running a Noveske barrel on a Holland I wouldn't push the specs as hard. You'd always max out at a certain % and would be short of 100% anyways. Just a thought.

second this.  i'll likely just use a YHM low-pro cause it's steel, cheap, and stays under the handguard.  Since i'm going to use the ballistic advantage barrel, as long as it looks recognizable as a holland, minor specs aren't a deal-breaker for me.

Yup, just saw the email and snagged one for the wife's recceish build.

Since I have a pcs coming up I'll likely wait on mine for my mod H. Seems the ops version is on sale every few months or so. Or if my drill pay hits soon I'll treat myself.

I'm trying real hard not to press the checkout button

You should, what with all that money you made selling your 12th and everything else associated with Mk12s.
