What is the harness rig your wearing?

What upper is that? Length? Rail?

Spike's lower and upper with BM barrel and LPK; RRA BCG. Surefire G2 with Malkoff M60; Beamshot laser body modified with an IR laser diode.

Trijicon RX30, on top of a RRA tactical carry handle (optic mounted high for ease of use with protective mask and/or head-mounted NVD).

Here's my last build which is shown here as a slick M4.  Add the Surefire Scout light, Aimpoint M2 and KAC RAS.

Course carried the M4 for a long time so I've figured out how I like it set up.

The gun is still brand new, never been fired.  I still need an aimpoint, a few more mags and a sling, but if SHTF tomorrow, its better than nothing.

I'll have to post some pics then but I do have some thoughts/questions. I don't understand having an unusual caliber for a real SHTF weapon and have seen several 6.8, 357 Sig, etc.

My thoughts are if the shit is real bad no matter how much ammo I may have on hand I want something that chambers a NATO round (5.56 & 9mm). Not my first choices if everything else was available but going with the thought that if shit goes south these calibers would be the most plentiful. I also believe in something that parts may be available for even if it's not my favorite weapon, as such I would go with my SBR AR with an extra longer upper and my 92FS...pics pending.

When you pick up riflels of the fallen, you will also acquire their ammo.  You just need enough to get started.

Here's my setup.  Colt LE6920 with Larue LT-104 SPR mount and USO SN-4s 1-4x with M855 ballistic cam, circle cheveron reticle.  I've since added a Knights RAS and VFG.  I'm picking up a DBAL IR Laser/Illuminator to run with my PVS-14's, a surefire scout, and an ARMS 40L BUIS when I get back from this deployment.  Eventually it will have a can too.  I'm actually using the USO in Afghanistan now.

Looks like an 870 express 18" or either a 870p with an 18" barrel. Also has speedfeed stock.

Thats it right there folks.

Sidearm-
Glock 17 with Ameriglo Pro Operator sights, TLR 1
Raven concealment holster and magazine pouch
RA9T

Primary 1-
LMT M4 upper, Larue 10.0, MBUS sights, M3/larue mount, Larue Mount/G2/Victor LED, bobro VFG, CTR stock, desert sand MS2/Noveske end plate
Raven Concealment magazine pouches

Primary 2-
Krebs AKS74, XS big dot sights, Krebs safety (the best), KVAR sold side folder, Gear Sector single point
Raven Concealment magazine pouches

Everything can be concealed with just a light jacket and a backpack.  Sidearm would take care of business until the long gun can be uncased.

Realistically, any SHTF scenario that is reasonable will require lots of movement, and the need to keep oneself inconspicuous.  I've got other gear too, but the chances of having to use it are a hell of alot less than this.

BTW, the raven gear is absolutely awesome

That was kind of my point...I want my rifle that I am used to and have set up the way I want but I also want to be able to scrounge ammo from whatever source it may come. It seems like a 6.8, 357 Sig, what have you is going to be hard to find if need be. I guess you better hope you shoot the right bad guy or that he has a weapon you like better than yours!

Being that a SKS and the AR15 dont use the same ammo.  I wouldnt consider that a good backup.
A good backup for a SKS would be another SKS, and a good back up for a AR would be another AR.
Seems you have the second part covered.  The whole one is none and two is one principle.
