I had a guy tell me I could not shoot this ammo but it is stamped on the side of the rifle .223\5.56, Can I get a second opinion..

Check your barrel.  Your barrel should be stamped 5.56.  The lower can be stamped .223/5.56 but if they changed the upper to a .223, then you are a no-go for 5.56 in a .223 chamber.

It's as easy as that. It should be ok, but check the barrel first.

Agreed.  If its a real Bushmaster barrel it will say 5.56 Nato which means you can shoot either 5.56 or .223.  If for some reason it's stamped .223, then DO NOT shoot 5.56 out of it.

Would it be stamped under the hand gaurds?  cuz I do not see any stamps on the barrel.

My Bushmaster A3/M4 has it stamped on the top of the barrel just behind the flash hider in front of the M203 notch.

Ok, Now I see it, due to the low light in my room I could not see it, but there it is
BMP 5.56 NATO 1/9
So I yake it that I can shoot the 5.56 with no issues???
