16" Lilja M4 barrel w/ B.E. Meyers 249F flash hider
Mega forged upper rec.
Mega forged lower
Nightforce 2.5-10x42 w/ Mil-R reticle
LT-104 scope mount
Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS-II rail
KAC 99051 taupe front flip sight
KAC 200-600m Micro rear buis
Badger Ordnance MK12 gas block
BCM BCG
BCM gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle
B5 SOPMOD enhanced stock
LaRue APEG grip
LaRue MBT-2 trigger
Harris 6-9 bipod w/ YHM bipod adaptor

Stripped upper and lower, along with the stock and bipod adaptor were rattle canned with Aervoe Field Drab.

The LT 2 stage trigger were just installed Wednesday night, group was shot with a DPMS milspec trigger include in a LPK

Group pictured was with... Federal XM855!!! Off a bipod and bench (I suck off a bench, prefer and perform better prone) I think all the stars in the universe aligned right for me on that range session!

Either that, or the shooting gods felt sorry for me, because my rifle fell 2 1/2 feet onto the concrete scope first... On a brand new Nightforce

ETA: Pre scope

This 6-24x40mm Pentax (rebranded Burris Black Diamond) in high LaRue SPR 1.93 mount with 4" sunscreen barely clears the front sight on the CMMG 16" 1:9 twist barrel.

The scope is used primarily for load development for handloads, but serves well to target small critters.  Trigger is Geissele SSA-E.

New pic after a few changes.  I had my other scope in an AR cantilever mount for a while, and it was just too high for me as I tend to have a heavy cheek weld.  So I got the TPS high rings, and they are perfect - 1.185" to the middle of the tube.    When swapping between this and my NV, it will remount to zero.  (I push my optics forward in the pic rail when mounting.)

I keep going back to my cheapest optic, an old Tasco 2-6x32 illuminated mil-dot reticle.  It may actually be an airsoft scope.  For some reason I love the low end for close in, the lit reticle for all the evenings and dusk hunting I do, and the high end is optimal to 300 on yotes.

NOTE: It is mounted "sideways" on purpose.  I always wear a hat, and the illumination knob on the top seems to hit the brim every time and hit me in the forehead.  That pisses me off, so I mounted it as such.  Sue me.

Budget/parts bin build.22" Wilson Arms  bull barrel, Midwest Industries gas block, Vrs-t handguard (had to open up both the gas block and the barrel nut), UTG bipod, Bushnell Banner 6x18x50mm, SSALT mount, Rainer Arms no FA upper, PSA premium BCG, Strike Industries dust cover, LRB lower, Core 15 LPK (a surprisingly crisp trigger), BCM grip, Moe fixed stock. Everything but the scope and stripped upper are take offs from other builds and the barrel was one I bought years ago and just got stuck in the drawer. Just waiting on a charging handle and a warm day to wring it out.

ETA. Just noticed the bipods backwards , I was messing with tightening the quick release and didn't notice before I took the pic.

It's not necessarily backwards, depending on which direction you want the legs to fold for carrying.  As for shooting, you can load the legs by pushing slightly forward or slightly backwards.  The barrel won't notice nor give a damn since it's free-floated anyways.

Nice rifle.....especially the way you built it from extra parts.  I hope she dances when you get her to the party!  I bet she will.

It started out as a Recce build but I just couldn't like the 1-6x PA or strikeeagle I had so now it wears a vortex crossfire II 4-12 with an off set vortex venom red dot. sub moa at 100 yards with match ammo. the strike industries jcomp is awesome as cutting down on recoil

Here is one that fits the description. Built this for my Dad last winter. It's got a Colt lower and WOA barrel. Shoots really well despite the ancient cheapo scope that he had and wanted to put on it. He regrets the Hogue hand guard but it fit the budget and gets the job done, just doesn't give you any options for accessories, such as a bipod and a sling. He will have to drill and tap another sling swivel to get both.

I know what you mean!  I ordered my WOA 22" SS barrel 6 weeks ago, just another month to go, hopefully!

Just curious, why does the hogue tube handguard seem to be so popular in this thread?

I'm probably going to put together a long range/varminter myself. I guess the biggest advantage I see is the price.
