My only question (as I've had my T1 that far back for a time) is why have the handguards behind the vfg?  Personally I'd want them infront of it to cover the rail so I don't grab it directly

I'm guessing that he uses the VFG as a hand stop at times and actually grips the handguard where the cover is.  On top of that...that may be where he likes to grip the fore end when he doesn't have the VFG in place.

Where he has it makes perfect sense to me as this is probably how I'd have that rifle set up.  We're all different (thank goodness)!!!

^I am surprised the Apex HG hasn't caught on more.  It really is a fantastic modular HG.  Mine resides on a rifle that I rarely shoot anymore...I should rectify that.

A question for you guys with KMR equipped rifles, specifically users who have put their rifles through a lil bit of hell...

How well are the rails "Holding up"? Not interested about the finish issues (as that was addressed and noted earlier)... But more to do with the structure, material, and components of the rail.

It appears that there is basically a bolting clamp system (From the outside, which alleviates the need for threaded inserts aka helicoils), but what I want to know is, how are the edges of the top rail holding up? I know rails frequently get bumped, knocked, and dinged... And some mounts can be rougher on attachment than others.

Any excessive wear or gouging, either on the pic rail, or on the keymod attatchment points?

Just wondering how they're performing as far as wear goes, compared to an aluminum rail.

That thing looks skinnnnnnnnnnnnnnny!!! Surprised a gas system even fits underneath that! If I were a 3-gunner, I would give that a look!!!

Make it out of Mag, and it'd be even lighter!

I've beat on mine some and so far it's held up fine. The mounting system is very stout and I have zero concerns with it failing.

I bought the lower complete from Spike's and the upper from BCM to see if I could have a complete rifle for the cost of building one with my bare hands.

It was close, within 100 bucks.

Picking up an Aimpoint T-1 in about two weeks and may switch out the WML for a Mini Scout.

ETA: My first 100% new rifle in over a year. I can't wait to scratch it all up!

Do you happen to know the weight? I've been thinking about getting the 14.5 socom upper for a pr clone.

I don't have a scale at the moment - to me its a lighter upper that others I've got. Its not heavy by any means IMO, plus BCM had the blems for around $400 shipped

Thanks.

I'm thinking about getting a Vortex 1-4x on a QD LT104 to have as another optic option. It's only a 14.5" standard barrel, so I'm not expecting sub minute groups, but it would be nice to have the ability to reach out a little farther. And I'll keep the T1 on there when it's at home for HD by my bed.

I haven't had time but I plan to do a torture test with mine.  Just at the house I'm put all my 240 lbs on it while on the pavement.  I've dropped a fat 30 ammo can with 1k plus fo under of 5.56 from arm's length.  I've droped it several times and the structure of the rail is still intact.

Thats good to know it can take that amount of weight on it.

There is also a thread where a guys AR had a very bad Kaboom and the KMR was intact.

I just drunk ordered a 16'' standard mid with 15'' KMR. Since it came with a free BCG and BCM comp I couldn't resist.

Doesn't matter. The knob on the LMT's is so big that it makes mounting a light difficult, that's why people flip them around.
