Nice!

The right answer is a Knight's 5.56 QDC suppressor....

What options do I have for a KAC rail? Going for a MK18'ish look but don't want to build a clone. I love the FF RAS but can it be installed with the FSB? I know the M4 RAS is an option but I've read that it doesn't secure that well. What options are out there for me? I want the old school MK18 look.

FF RAS carbine (20208) would work
DD Omega would be another option
If you want to throw good money downrange, get a URX2 25124/25125.

upload pictures to a place like flickr, imgur, etc.

Then copy the link address into the landscape/image box (2 left of the twitter icon).

This build will only have a KAC rail. I don't care about price of the rail but I also don't want to have to search for a year to find the rail on 2nd market. Does the FSB have to be removed to install the FF RAS carbine? I wouldn't be comfortable doing that but could send it off.

The FF RAS will be a perfect rail for that setup.

The FSB will have to be removed.

Install rail.

Reinstall FSB with gas tube and time muzzle device.

Geno has one here (4E).

Thanks, I am a neewb as far as the AR and 5.56 platform goes. Any recommendations for practice ammo and match ammo ? What grain ammo should I run with the 14.5 1:7 barrel ?

Any of you guys practice with  frangible ammo  or steel case ammo ?

Sorry for all the questions, i appreciate the help !

Nice.

Will you Form 1 SBR it or keep it title 1?

Thanks man. For the time being, probably just keep it as a pistol, though I would love to be able to throw on one of my SOPMOD's. I do have a suppressor that was a Form 1 that's assigned to a trust. If I didn't assign an SBR to the trust and just did it as an individual, would I still need to carry my tax stamp papers with me anywhere I took it as an SBR?

Very welcome.

When I get a tax stamp in hand, I'll make a few copies of the original and keep them with the NFA item either in a range bag, scanned and saved on my phone, or rolled up in a SOPMOD tube.

I've never been asked to show proof of NFA registration while out with tax-stamped items, but I always keep some form of it handy.

The originals get put in a folder I have locked up.

I like the idea of just throwing it in the sopmod stock. Hmm, now you've got me thinking, lol.

I'm really digging the centurion lower. The clean minimalist roll mark is where it's at and I know the tolerances are nice and tight. I maybe using one of these for the next build, that or the obtainable lmt defender.

Thanks, yeah this one has Centurion upper, lower, and bolt. They make great stuff, and that company has some of the best customer service in the gun world. Here's another one of my builds that is all KAC (minus barrel and buffer assembly) The barrel is a colt FBI with factory shaved FSB. I will eventually swap out the buffer assembly.

I was caught in the transition phase, purchased (ordered) a QDC and took months to wait for the order and then replaced order with a CRS and essentially lost about three months on getting paper work started.  Interesting though the website list the CRS with a /QDC.   A September order and purchase ended up with a December check cashed.

I have another question for you guys. I can see that the sr15 stripped lowers pop up on the market every few millennia or so. But stripped uppers are practically non existent on the market, correct?

For the most part, yes. They come and go on the EE. There are some true virgin stripped uppers out there but most are probably from disassembled uppers.

It's a legacy SR15 lower. The previous picture didn't show it but it says SAFE and FIRE in there.
