The “Mod Grendel” and Mod 1.  The Grendel has a few KAC parts, including the rail, scope mount, Sandcutter carrier, trigger guard, and VFG.  The Mod 1 has the rail and bipod Mount.  I love these FF RAS.

I'll post the answer in a couple days when I get it apart for anyone who might be interested. Thought I would've had time to tear it down over the weekend, but it didn't happen.

Sweet collection.

Out of all the rifles pictured, to me the stock looking Colt with carry handle with KAC NT4 is sexiest.

It's a BA 12.5" cut down to 11.3".  Makes the can sit flush with the Medium RAS.

Thanks!  It's a plain old 6933 upper with gov't profile and .750 gas block journal which I suppose is the somewhat newer 6933 profile.  I'm not a fan of heavy or medcon barrels and ditched my SOCOMs a few years ago.  Of course the dimpled Mod 1 Carbine is the exception for obvious reasons.

Cheers

Anyone got any tips to removing a FF RAS? I crank on it with a strap wrench and hit it with a torch and nothing!

Are you sure you’re doing it in the right direction? Lefty loosey as viewed from the back of the rifle as the handguard cap threads on to the rail.

I can't justify another upper build, but I might have to sell a few things and build an 11.3 mini recce like yours and @RTUtah I think the medium FF RAS paired with a 11.3 and 1-x LPVO is mini recce perfection. Excellent builds!

Started the process on an Omega 9k for this one.

Nothing special, just finally got around to fitting an M4QD flash hider to one of my Mod 1s.  I find that the Mod 1 is so light that the added weight of the can isn't too bad really.

@M4ger

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. This is my 16" Mod 2 barrel that I'm going to send out to be chopped to 14.5". It appears to be roughly a .07" gas port and drilled the traditional straight down.

Thank you Outrider.

Are you going to put a MK14 over it?  That would be the next thing I'd consider for it

Thanks for the info @Outrider! This is why I wanted confirmation from someone here. There's a member on TOS (who is also a member here) claiming that Mod 2 gas ports are drilled at an angle towards the muzzle, but this doesn't appear to be the case. I'm sure all Mod 2's are drilled the same, so not sure where he got his info.

I've also been curious about 14.5" Mod 2 Carbine gas port diameters, so I'll post that info along with pics when I get mine apart.

mine is about 10.5lb with a loaded mag.

unfortunately the bipod, can and light make it pretty front heavy so the balance sucks for sustained shouldering.

Quite few Knights doo-dads here.
Handstop
Bottom rail
QD adapter on the other side
T1 mount
T1 battery cap
And the dimpled railsacles were on purpose

Question for you guys with urx4’s. I installed my using the chart. I torque it 3 times since I kept getting a little past. At the end I could only get 30-35ft lbs of torque. Are the shims one time use only or can I remove the rail to add a little shim to try and get the torque up?
